Not a fan of those at all.
Mine with the corner protectors and especially chequer pate corners saved mine from a lot of damage but unfortunately the arch spat was screwed but at least the panel wasn't. I was lucky as my spats are flexi-rubbery ones so no damage to them that is a good thought though, additional armour on the back sides, will look into that 1996 Golf Blue 300Tdi 110 Pick up.

Bond them on too if you did go CP. That way they'll likely come off or hand off after taking the hit but save the panel.
If they are rivertted affixed with fixings they'll likely damage the panel. I think you know what I'm getting at. No Guts, No Glory.

Thanks Steve, trying not to go down the CP route, but still a good idea with the fixing method 1996 Golf Blue 300Tdi 110 Pick up.

Well i have the last bit of the puzzle for you regarding the product i'm using on the arches
After the great day we had green laning, Millie was really muddy so i thought it would be a good time to see how the " product " does under pressure, so late evening i went down to my local garage and pressure washed Mille off, it took 2 go's to get respectable again i made sure that the arches had a good clean then came back home and then after the normal working days Millie has been doing, over a week now, so in the first pic i started to rub the arch to see what would happen, with a bit of water, nothing else, i rubbed with an old dirty towel , this was the result, left clean bit, right dirty arch before the rub ........................ Click image to enlarge The next pic is with more of the arch cleaned off ............................... Click image to enlarge So it's nice and smooth to touch and it has faded a little but it is still better than the other products i have used, i dont know if i mentioned it but i only put the ONE coat of this on in the beginning to see what would happen, so here is the product ..................................... Click image to enlarge It certainly does what it says on the front I will be using this again, good stuff and try and build up a good barrier to keep the arches looking good 1996 Golf Blue 300Tdi 110 Pick up. On another note i kept on painting my front bumper to keep it in good appearance, but after a while i got fed up of rubbing it down and re-painting so i got it shot blasted, then galvanised to help it last longer then i painted it black again, so after a few more years touching it up, i thought i'm back to square one, so i have took all the black paint off and this is the new look ......................................
Click image to enlarge I really like it and very happy with the end result 1996 Golf Blue 300Tdi 110 Pick up. Keeper. Clayton. |
