I'm afraid the only time that a V8 will be under Millie's bonnet will be if i win the lottery that i dont do or if some kind person will pay for it to be put in, then i have all my spare money to run it as a daily drive

As yesterday's weather was so i could not do anything to millie, so i spend the day driving about, being a taxi driver
Today in the afternoon after the showers had stopped for a while, i managed to get another job done as millie is all totally original parts still on her from new, ( i'm assuming allot here ) i have been upgrading as best and when i can, so as the door handles have seen better days and the locks were worn out i have put new oem door handles and locks on both sides, first the N/S/F door, got the door card off and was greeted by this rusty screw .................................. I know the doors have passed their sell by date by a long way Click image to enlarge So i had to drill the screw top off and then by some miracle the other screw, unscrewed but unscrewed the plastic bit it was in, in the handle, so with the handle off i then proceeded i put the new lock in the new handle and then instead of putting screws back in, i used bolts so that next time they have to come off, it will be easier................................ Click image to enlarge Click image to enlarge So with that door done i was well pleased with it and i must say the new lock and handle are a pleasure to use Then i started on the N/S/F door, this door is far worse than i thought, so a hunt will be on for a pair of good front doors anyway, once i got the door card off, both the screws this side were so rusty i did not try to unscrew them ............................. Click image to enlarge Click image to enlarge Yes you guessed right, the drill came out again and after a bit of time i got the handle off same process as the other door and bolted on with designer washer's .............................. Click image to enlarge The other pic will not load for some strange reason, tried but no go So all in all i had a good time getting all that done and now i can get the other little projects sorted 1996 Golf Blue 300Tdi 110 Pick up. Yes she would Procta, but only if they are free Well the history of Millie is.................. She was bought new on the 25th January 1996 and she was a hard top van in Conniston Green, that owner had her for about 6-12 months, then sold her on to the 2nd owner, who did have a 90 but going through some deep water flooded the engine and it was broke, so he bought Millie and then set about spending about £6000 on her, eg converting her to a pick up, spraying her Blue, alloys, roll cage, new tyres, snorkel, chequer plate and a big secure metal tool box to go in the back, then the 3rd owner bought her in April 1999 and didn't do to much with her, just going around some fields maintaining fences etc and 2-4 times a year towing his trailer with a vintage tractor on to shows, then the 4th owner bought her, that was ME She only had 69,000 miles on the clock and i got her in October 2005 So that is her history in full 1996 Golf Blue 300Tdi 110 Pick up.
