My 110 MILLIE.
Hi all
I have decided to start a thread on Millie as i am doing allot more to her and taking allot of pic's as well to put on this forum as its the only forum i go on Very Happy Everyone on here is great and dont mind helping in anyway that they can and you can get honest opinions as well, good Thumbs Up and not so good Laughing

So here goes................

Yesterday's start was an early one as i had to go with my youngest Daughter to help her and her work mates to set up Gazebo's, tables, etc.... for their " fun Fair " in the square to help raise funds for there work, she works at a pre school, so money is always short Rolling Eyes then i came back home and washed the wife's Corsa first, then once that was done i could start on Millie, she took a bit longer than normal as she had a load off Devon mud and allot off sticky Salisbury mud on her as well Rolling Eyes Then after finishing Millie i had to go and help my youngest again to take down all the stuff we had put up and generally helping to make sure all the square was clean Thumbs Up When i got home around 3pm ish i could start on Millie's jobs that i planned to do as we had 2 dry days in a row Laughing
The first and second pic's are just before i started on her.......................

The next 2 pic's are showing the condition of the mirror arms.........................

Then i got started on the n/s door first as i was not sure that i could finish it before it got dark and in case i needed Millie for an emergency, first pic of the hinges ( all of them had been primed, sprayed and lacquered about a month before ) then the second pic of the security plates Very Happy ....................

Then when i had fitted the bottom hinge i did the top one and put the mirror arms that i had got powder coated on and just finished doing all that just in time as the light was fading quick, sorry no pics Sad

So onto today and i could start early as i made sure i had nothing else to do Wink After finishing yesterday, i started on the o/s/d , pic of hinges and security plates Very Happy ..................

The next pic is of the powder coated mirror arm and showing you that i use a stainless steel bolt with a hex top on it, this one had been in a while and no rust and came undone Easy Very Happy I know the bit of metal is not in good condition but that is just temporally there until i can get my next project finished to deal with that Whistle ................................

The next pic is of that side finished Very Happy ................................

As you can see in the pic the nice shiny new bolts Wink I used all genuine LR stuff including hinges, bolts for both doors and the bolts that attach the mirror's to the hinges and these.................................

which i didn't know you had to use them Shocked

Because of the shiny bolts i didn't want anyone to know, so i got some paint out and painted them to match Millie and it did the job.....................

Then after i had finished all that i had plenty of time to do my next job, which was to replace the timber on top of the butt side's , I used good seasoned Oak wood and these had all been stained/preserver ed before a good month before, old ones still on..........................

Old ones off.....................................

New ones on............................

Then with the roll cage braces back on..............................................

Just a pic before the sides go on Very Happy Very Happy ..........................

Then with the sides on that i started yesterday off with .............................

Then i had to go for a drive to do some stuff and the mirrors dont move when driving along anymore due to these...........

These go on the bolt to hold the mirror onto the hinge Wink Very Happy

So i have had a great 2 days Mr. Green

The white plastic washers/sleeves are to go on the bolt that you put through the hinge to hold the mirror arm on with so stops the bolt moving in the hole there for mirror does not move Wink Very Happy 1996 Golf Blue 300Tdi 110 Pick up.
