On Wednesday millie went in for another 6000 mile service but this time she was going in for 2 days instead of 1, this was because i wanted some other stuff done at the same time sorry no pic's, one of the " extra's " was to fit new genuine front disc's, calipers and pads as the front started to not wear right ( not genuine ones ) and the O/S/F caliper was not right so now i will have to bed them in for a little while she is going great at the moment and well glued to the road i have even a bigger grin at the moment when driving 1996 Golf Blue 300Tdi 110 Pick up.

So after a good 5 week bedding in period for the brakes there was something not right with them as, if you wanted to do an emergency stop, i'm not sure that you could so millie went in yesterday to find out whats going on, so when i went to pick her up, the mechanic told me that the vacuum pipe had a hair line crack in it, so a temporary fix was done ( all done properly with good pipe ) until they get one in stock as they did not have one and then just to make sure they changed the disc pads for some EBC greenstuff ones and then tested the brakes on there mot set up and so after a short time using millie, the brakes are so much better and with a bit more bedding in i will able to do a emergency stop without worrying if i can or not
At the same time i had this put back on with a brand new one....................................... Click image to enlarge The reason for taking it off in the first place was that she was ok until the first viscous went and from then on they would last just over a year, so after the third or fourth one went i put the kenlow fan on. Earlier this year i started having problems with it and it finally packed up on the wales trip, so i bodged it so one fan would work when i connected the wires when she needed to be cooled down, so now i'm back to the old skool way Other than the above she going a treat 1996 Golf Blue 300Tdi 110 Pick up. hey mate, I found the box for the ipad thing. I took a photo, but I can't post it from this device.
Anyway, it's a Dension Ice Link One - I had a quick google and it seems to be discontinued, though there might be some used ones on ebay? I also tried googling ipod FM cradle, and got some stuff that's close.... I guess I must have bought and fitted this back in 2008, or possibly even earlier... so the way electronics go these days it has to be really obsolete.... Sorry! |

Hi Clayton,
Definitely a 'generic' item - any car. The one you linked to would be fine but it was obviously missing the screw-in attachment to hold the cradle. They came with air vent clips too. Mine's still in the packet/box because it didn't work in the Landy. There's no moving parts, so I can't see any problem with getting a good, used one. Maybe the plug might be a bit worn if it was used a lot. Depends how someone used it. I went for a dedicated car ipod, so it stays permanently attached. Obvioulsy ipod are old tech now - surprising that such a thing would become obsolete so quickly.
