Now that it’s level unloaded, will it not sit nose-up when you load the back?

Just an update on millie's springs, in the first pic, i'm ready to be loaded up with reed and as you can see she is nearly level....
Click image to enlarge In the second pic i am all loaded up and her nose is in the air ................................... Click image to enlarge They say there is a first time for everything and this was one of those moments, so i was not happy with this and on the way to work i stopped off and rang my indy, got all the info and it turns out that they have fitted the heavy duty super/pro springs and this has given her a 3"lift on the front, so i am going to take millie to get the standard springs put on a week this Saturday morning, and as i will be there, if they are not right as well, the old ones will be going back on All fun and games 1996 Golf Blue 300Tdi 110 Pick up. There's no way that's got three inch lift springs on the front. It still looks lower than standard.
Surely you just need rear springs that are suited to the loads that you carry? Darren 110 USW BUILD THREAD - EXPEDITION TRAILER - 200tdi 90 BUILD THREAD - SANKEY TRAILER - IG@landroveranorak "You came in that thing? You're braver than I thought!" - Princess Leia |

Hi LRA it's just that with the old springs on she always was pointing down hill and her nose never went in the air, even when she was fully loaded, even when i first had her, the distance from the ground up to the wheel arch was a 3" difference when the new springs were put on, i always have seen that the commercial defenders with the nose down and the back up Am i wrong in thinking this was right 1996 Golf Blue 300Tdi 110 Pick up. lots of faffing around Clayton, might be easier to get a full set of HD springs fitted, in sure it’s 90 rear springs fitted to the front of HD 110s. 90 wolf - Jasmin http://www.defender2.net/forum/topic39408.html

A three inch difference between old and new is not the same as a three inch lift. That just means your old springs were tired. Defenders always sit slightly nose down when empty and nearer level when loaded - it's basic physics. It's not realistic to expect it to sit level when empty and still sit level with a huge great load in the rear. The springs will compress when loaded. Putting your old front springs on will merely mean you're driving around on tired front springs. The front is, for all practical purposes, a fixed load and so should always stay roughly the same. The rear will obviously vary between loaded and unloaded and, given what you carry, you need to choose a set that can comfortably cope with the loaded state. Thanks LRA, i'm hoping that the standard springs they are going to put on this time, will be the right ones 1996 Golf Blue 300Tdi 110 Pick up.
