Finally a bit of an update!

The series 1s are in hibernation for the winter months, and I've had a bit of a move around, so the series 3 is now top of the queue again,

I've not touched it for a few months, as I was always too busy working on the others.

Yesterday afternoon I managed to get rear brake pipes, slave cylinders, and shoes all fitted,

Trying to squeeze a V8 In between the footwells of a series Land Rover does present a few problems,
Manifolds are a headache, even with RR classic ones, you still don't get much room to play with.

The Bulkhead needed some work in the way of footwells, badly damaged door pillars, and rotten bulkhead feet.
So today was spent on the bulkhead, and sort all the problems out.

I took 3" off the passenger side footwell to allow good clearance for the manifold, and to access the rear plugs,
The drivers side lost a good 2" to overcome the same issues.

Sill got the drivers pillar to fit, but all in all a good bit done this weekend,
I would like to get it running in the Christmas break if I can?

Changed the battery and she starts first flick of the key! Too good to break, it’s going down to Kent to be a greenlaner I believe. Everyone that’s seen it at the farm has ended up reminiscing over Disco 1’s, lots of soft spots for them!

Another Weekend, and a bit more done!

I refitted the bulkhead yesterday, just to make sure everything was in the right place,
Then carried on with the new door pillars and bulkhead feet.

Today I got the tub back on, and fitted new doors and hinges from SP,
Took a while to get everything where it needed to be, but I'm very happy with the panel gaps, and the way the doors open and shut.

Next step was to take the V8 back out, and finally weld the mounts to the chassis,
Hope to get the bulkhead prepped this week for paint, then tidy the engine up before it goes back in for good.

I've picked up some nice secondhand straight wings, as the originals were just too far gone to make them look nice,
I'm still resisting the urge to do a total respray, it was always meant to stay a bit tatty
So I'm only painting the replaced panels (for now) Whistle

Quite nice to see it resembling a Land Rover again, for a few days anyway.....

Mash,

It's your fault I'm now having to spend some time on the engine! Laughing

I was going to drop it in as it was, but after seeing yours cleaned up, I'm going down the same route now Thumbs Up 80" 80" 86" 88" 90"
