Changed the battery and she starts first flick of the key! Too good to break, it’s going down to Kent to be a greenlaner I believe. Everyone that’s seen it at the farm has ended up reminiscing over Disco 1’s, lots of soft spots for them!

I would have liked to have kept it, but just didn't have the time for it.
It was a good old bus... 80" 80" 86" 88" 90" Wanted, Forward Control Anything considered. |

Another Weekend, and a bit more done!
I refitted the bulkhead yesterday, just to make sure everything was in the right place, Then carried on with the new door pillars and bulkhead feet. Today I got the tub back on, and fitted new doors and hinges from SP, Took a while to get everything where it needed to be, but I'm very happy with the panel gaps, and the way the doors open and shut. Next step was to take the V8 back out, and finally weld the mounts to the chassis, Hope to get the bulkhead prepped this week for paint, then tidy the engine up before it goes back in for good. I've picked up some nice secondhand straight wings, as the originals were just too far gone to make them look nice, I'm still resisting the urge to do a total respray, it was always meant to stay a bit tatty So I'm only painting the replaced panels (for now) Quite nice to see it resembling a Land Rover again, for a few days anyway..... Mash,
It's your fault I'm now having to spend some time on the engine! I was going to drop it in as it was, but after seeing yours cleaned up, I'm going down the same route now 80" 80" 86" 88" 90" Wanted, Forward Control Anything considered. |
