I'm tempted by a decat pipe myself - did you fit it after? Was it tricky to fit? What are the results? Peter

I got the local garage to fit mine last week and watched them fit it pay the 40 or so quid to get it done its a pain in the bum to fit without ramps and you need additional bolts as the standard are studs NEVER TAKE LIFE SERIOUSLY. NOBODY GETS OUT ALIVE ANYWAY

Fekete and JMS both had decat pipes fitted just this week and both told me it was worth the effort! Maybe they'll pop along to explain?
That's the next thing on my list I think! Pipped me to the post by 3 minutes Karlos, we must have been typing at the same time! If you go through life with your head in the sand....all people will see is an ar5e!! Treat every day as if it is your last....one day you will be right!! |

Driver,
I fitted one last weekend and i have found the results to be very good. I am currently running with the most recent Land Rover ECU software (as of 4th June) ITG air filter and Alive SS pipe and de-cat. Fitting was not to much of an issue except if you want to keep the old CAT in one piece. Its huge and to remove it without cutting i had to un-bolt the prop shaft at the front diff and the chassis cross member. Other than that easy.... I found the engine runs quieter, turbo runs much smoother and quite possible getting a few more MPG (will do a tally up on the next re-fill) Hope this helps. JMS |

Cheers for the replies - I was thinking of fitting one myself, then someone in my Land Rover club said it looked a ba5tard to fit so I became nervous - I think I'll buy one and get my local garage to fit it. Peter

Fekete,
I bet yours flys now with the BAS tune in place. Turbo whistle????? PS... Just been offered £65 for my old cat pipe... K9, I recon you should get the SS pipe and de-cat before your tune goes back on!!! |

I bet she does... I find the mid box does make a good mirror thou, ideal for when you smack your head on the diff and you want to see how serious the bleeding is before you attempt to get out from under the car. |
