Had the same when my truck was also relatively new. Went into limp mode several times with engine mgmt light coming on like yours, but nothing wrong with the turbo. Limp mode means no turbo of course. It actually was all down to a faulty EGR valve, which once replaced under warranty, never went into limp mode again.
Hope it is as simple as that in your case too. You never actually own a Defender. I hope so too. They've cancelled on me now and told me it will be 8am tomorrow morning.
Another day late to work because of Land Rover. |

Land Rover are here now. Apparently the alternator pulley has cut through the turbo pipe.
Its a very common fault apparently... |

The Technician explained that the pipe is just poorly fitted as opposed to a poor design. However, he has reported it many times.
You can see how the pulley has cut a large hole right through the intercooler pipe... Click image to enlarge It shouldn't happen again once fitted in the right position. My concern is that air and melted bits of plastic have been able to bypass the filter and go straight into the turbo. I guess time will tell, thank god for the warranty. |

Had the same last weekend ( covering only 2500 miles from new) turned out the turbo hose had come off with the clip feel off, my local dealer fitted two clips to the hose (JUST IN CASE) according to land rover recovery LR will be releasing a modified hose/clip

Indeed it is! http://www.defender2.net/forum/topic20804.html Recently replaced mine with stainless steel hard-pipes! Was the other side that had evidience of chafing on mine....against the alternator. If you go through life with your head in the sand....all people will see is an ar5e!! Mal, are you referring to the Entreq Airflow Kit which they produce for the Td4? If I remember well, those from Entreq are for the Puma 2.4, correct? These here: http://www.entreq.de/products-lr-defender/...r-td4.html Worth your while I guess. Several years ago I had a turbo hose split on my Puma, which was then replaced under warranty. But I would be happy to have it once and for all out of the the way. Eric You never actually own a Defender. Eric,
It is indeed those very pipes but they didn't come from Entreq. As everything from Entreq it is top quality and top dollar. But a stainless pipe with silicone ends is a stainless pipe with silicone ends. £343???? I think not!!!!! If you go through life with your head in the sand....all people will see is an ar5e!!
