Alright, Dinnu.
By the way, I captured a short video of the sounds from the rear wheel, which has a burning smell and noisy sounds coming from this area. And only when I reversed it, the clicking sounds came out. Please take a look and see if you have come across this issue before. Video Link: https://youtube.com/shorts/i7VbGExruGA Thank you. |

Hi Dinnu, do you know TDI 200 rear wheel bearing (outer) have any oil seal as showed in diagram which is no12 FRC8222?
Because only have inner oil seal there when I removed everything yesterday, so i am not sure whether is previous mechanical job or the original actually don't have the outer seal? Photo as attached showed wheel bearing broken after I removed it. Click image to enlarge |

Could be that the seal was removed to lubricate the bearings with gear oil. 1988 90 Hard Top, 19J Diesel Turbo, Shire Blue - Restoration ongoing

Hi Bro Dinnu
Do you know where the original oil breather tank is supposed to connect? The previous owner modified it to an oil catch can, but I’ve noticed there’s always some engine oil dripping from the mini air filter (as shown in the attached photo). but I was thinking change the oil catch can system with two mini filters. Any side effect by using the oil catch can? anyway, thank you. Click image to enlarge |

On 200tdi, the breather goes through a cyclone, that separates the oil mist which drains back into the sump, and the rest of the air goes back to the air intake. 1988 90 Hard Top, 19J Diesel Turbo, Shire Blue - Restoration ongoing

Hi Dinnu
Do you know if oil can leak through the drive flange area? The dust cap isn't broken, but when I opened it, it felt a bit loose and not tight. It's leaking again from that area, and I believe it's due to the inner hub seal. When I replaced it that day, the bearing cone wouldn't fit properly, so I forced it in with the inner hub seal. It seems the issue with the inner hub seal, after being forced, is now causing the leak. thank you. Click image to enlarge Click image to enlarge |

If you seeing oil in the red marked area, I think the dust cap is not sealing well.
Oil leaking from hub seal will wet your brake shoes/drum, and you see oil only at the brake drum lip and backing plate. 1988 90 Hard Top, 19J Diesel Turbo, Shire Blue - Restoration ongoing 2012 90 CSW, 2.2TDCI, Santorini Black |

Yes, just seeing oil frm the dust cap area there. So does this mean under normal condition, some oil will travel to drive flange there for lubrication purposes? Thank you. |
