What you show above is the high pressure fuel lines from the injection pump to the injectors.

Do you mean you want to remove the injection pump? Its a bit more involving to remove the injection pump, as you would need to remove the timing belt.

The lift pump is more towards the rear of the engine block, still drivers side, and it only has 2 lines, an In and an Out.

I won't be removing the injection pump, but I plan to change its O-ring during the next service.

Anyway, I'll remove the high-pressure fuel lines too, to replace the oil filter housing gasket.

As long as no fuel comes out when removing the fuel lift pump, it should be an easy job.

Thanks Bro Cool

Note that if you take the high pressure fuel lines out, a small amount of fuel will come out from the injection pump. 1988 90 Hard Top, 19J Diesel Turbo, Shire Blue - Restoration ongoing

Oh I see, so I'll need to bleed the fuel system after that?

thank you Smile

Usually leaving the high pressure lines loose at the injectors and cranking until fuel leaks there is enough to prime the injection pump. 1988 90 Hard Top, 19J Diesel Turbo, Shire Blue - Restoration ongoing

Hi Bro Dinnu, today, when I change my engine oil and want to open the oil filter housing bolts to change the gasket, my question is: do I only need to remove two bolts, or is there a third bolt as well?

When I removed two bolts, it was quite difficult to take off the oil filter housing. I suspect my mechanic might have used RTV silicone without the gasket the last time.

I'm saying this because for both my fuel lift pump and its mounting, as well as the brake vacuum (which has a triangular shape), they only used RTV silicone without a gasket.

That's why I've noticed minor leaks in those areas. Today, I managed to change the brake vacuum gasket, but I could only replace one gasket as the triangular metal part was difficult to remove.

thank you. Smile

LRWorkshop is an extremely good source of information to check assembly drawings and part number. Here is link for the 200tdi. https://www.lrworkshop.com/diagrams/land-r...ine/200tdi

For your quesions on how many bolts are used on the oil filter housings, you can see that there are 2 in the following diagram.

All the components that you mention are assembled on gaskets at the factory. 1988 90 Hard Top, 19J Diesel Turbo, Shire Blue - Restoration ongoing

Ok, thank you for your info.

Hard thing is to remove the plate from the block.

Anyway, I'll try again when I change the engine oil next round.

Thanks Smile

Hi Bro Dinnu, I wanted to check with you about the fuel lines; they are only tightened by hand force, right?

I've noticed some minor fuel leaks from number 2 and number 3. Can I use PTFE tape to wrap the threads?

thanks Smile

As far as I know, the high pressure pipes are flared, so no use of ptfe tape. 1988 90 Hard Top, 19J Diesel Turbo, Shire Blue - Restoration ongoing

Hi bro, I wanted to confirm something about the TDI 200 turbocharger. Does it automatically receive oil from the engine oil to provide lubrication?

thank you.

Yes, there is an oil feed from the side of the engine block, and goes to the top of the turbocharger. Then there is an oil drain below the turbocharger to drain the oil back into the sump. 1988 90 Hard Top, 19J Diesel Turbo, Shire Blue - Restoration ongoing

Alright, it is saves time as there's no need to change the oil separately, unlike other turbochargers.

thank you Smile

Hey Dinnu, I need some advice. A few days ago, my clutch pedal cannot press to down at all, so I just forced it down, and it lost its elasticity. After some investigation, I discovered a leak at the bottom of the clutch slave pump (please refer to the attached photo).

My question is, is the issue solely related to the clutch slave pump, or could there be other underlying problems? I've already placed an order for a new clutch slave pump, and it's on its way for delivery.

Thank you.
