L110CDL with you saying its low down on power, could your indy not have done a test drive before handing Mille back to you? Sounds to me that the pump might need adjusting or the timing might be out. Defender TD5 90 ---/--- Peugeot 306 HDI hatch back

He did do a test drive Procta and said it went well and did 70 but that's not what i want, i want lower end torque like i used to have and he has made sure that the timing is right, he always double check what he does Thumbs Up 1996 Golf Blue 300Tdi 110 Pick up.

Feel your pain Clayton. I hate these simple problems that leave you swapping part after part trying to identify a fix. Becomes a costly exercise. 2007 - Stornoway Grey 90 XS SW - Gone

Sounds to me like the off boost /low boost fuelling needs adjustment. I don't know how that would effect the warranty on the pump. Perhaps you could ask the supplier to dial in more fuel at the bottom end whilst they have it in for inspection? 2002 90 Td5 Station Wagon

I went to my indy on the way home to pick up my allisport intercooler to bring home and give it a good clean up and get the hole fixed and at the same time, i have booked Millie in to change the injection pump for another one i got here at home, in the new year, then i will be taking pump back to Electro-Diesel to see if they can find a problem with it Rolling Eyes Rolling Eyes 1996 Golf Blue 300Tdi 110 Pick up.

Thanks George i will mention it to him again as i have already mentioned this and he is quite adamant that it is not a problem with the work he has done on the pump, as you have said, i can't do nothing " out of house " on the pump as it's still under warranty and i would like to give them one last chance to redeem them selves Wink 1996 Golf Blue 300Tdi 110 Pick up.

I would give them another shot, just in case they have not set it properly. I do feel your pain mind, i had a rover metro in for a water pump change, They did the belt too, but never bothered their arses to time the car up, as soon as it was hitting a hill, it was down to 30 mph, my dad said something isnt right here! when you get the same sodding car over take you on a 70!
took it back, they said it was something else, i was like i dont think so fella it was in for a water pump change, and it was ok before it went here. they had a look at it, still was the same, Took it to another garage, who i bought the car from, they checked it over and said the timing was way out! They over timed the engine, so the car was pinking. My dad said sod it! I will book it down to the local tuners. They checked the car over and corrected everything to the point the engine was just as sweet.
The tuner said, we have had cars here from both garages, mainly the 1st one, that you took it too for the water pump change.
Cost me more than i paid for the car, due to some daft monkey not doing the job properly, " yeah it starts send it out"
Mark or right down the pump number, just in case they switch it for a recon one they have already on the shelf, as they may have done that already. Say they sorted yours but replaced it with another one they had in stock. If it comes back and they still say all is good. Then sod them off, Thumbs Up It gets expensive and annoying, Defender TD5 90 ---/--- Peugeot 306 HDI hatch back

A little time ago i had a problem with no lights https://www.defender2.net/forum/topic75296.html so on one of the items i changed was the indicator/main beam and horn stalk which i thought might be causing the problem, ever since changing the stalk for a new one in a Lucas box my indicators don't self cancel properly, i have tried all ways of fixing this problem which i searched for on a few forums.
The decision i went for was to put the stalk back on that i had took off in the first place, just to make sure, so when inspecting the original one to the new one i noticed that the blue collar moved a lot, you could move it from side to side at least 5 mm each side Rolling Eyes on the original blue collar, you could not move it 1 mm, this got me thinking, so i started to have a thorough look at both of them and found that although the new stalk came in a Lucas box, it was NOT a genuine one as there was no Lucas markings on it what so ever Shocked Rolling Eyes
At the moment with the original stalk back on the indicators are working all good and self cancelling properly Very Happy

Original stalk

The imposter stalk with a lot of movement each side

Some markings on the back of the original unit, which the other stalk had none of

original stalk back on with no movement with the blue collar

So the big question is, can you buy genuine Lucas stalk units at all ?

I'm happy i have found and sorted the problem out Very Happy 1996 Golf Blue 300Tdi 110 Pick up.

Saturday just gone Millie was at my indy's to have the reconditioned fuel injection pump removed and to put my spare one on in it's place and then yesterday, as the weather was a total wash out for working on the roof, we did some prep work with the ridging reed at our store, then when we had finished that i was lucky that i could drop of the injection pump at Electro-diesel on the way home, so all i have to do is wait for a phone call from John to hear if he has found anything wrong with it Neutral

Having had my spare injection pump back in Millie, i can say it is far superior than the injection pump that has just come off of Millie, even my mate said the same Very Happy 1996 Golf Blue 300Tdi 110 Pick up.
