Evening Peeps
Has anyone had any experience on a PSI Power Upgrade Chip? Life is one big adventure, that's why we have the vehicle for the journey. |

Yes, loads! lol
Contact West Somerset Land Rovers, in Wellington (01823 674561), and ask Richard Willis about safe methods of tuning. He'll guide you down the right path, and sort you a Forum Discount at the same time! Regards, Gary. |

Thanks Gary, I've got the chance to buy one at the minute with2 chips supplied but not sure if it's a gimmick or not? Life is one big adventure, that's why we have the vehicle for the journey.

These things are an extremely crude way of making your engine produce more power, as they try to fool your engine. There are many parameters within the software that should be changed to make a nicely balanced state of tune, which these external boxes can never access.
There is no plug in tuning box that can compare with a properly made remap. If you're going to do it, do it properly or not at all. |

That is a bit out of order isn't it? Slagging off the competition for no reason. Doesn't seem very professional John http://www.hampshire4x4response.co.uk 2011 Tdci 110 CSW XS |

I'm not slagging anyone off. I apologise if it came across like that. Pete is the brains behind all IRB's remaps, Fact. I thought this was common knowledge?
Both are freinds of mine. |

not if you carry on like that! Ians a good kid, doesn't make his money from remaps. Pete has a great reputation but you all do the same tricks, no one has crack the ecu's code from what i have seen. smoke and mirrors Was just giving people options apart from YOU, and once again your professionalism fails you |

Karl, I was thinking of getting the BAS remap in May, when I am down in York, at what revs do you get the flat spots? I want the remap for towing my caravan/boat trailer. |

Hi i experienced flat spot with my BAS tune and a few other guys have.....and basically they just turn the power down to overcome this ? the tune is good but as said i and others have experienced these flat spots resulting in me sending the tune back.....I can't recall where i had the flat spots it was a while ago i had the tune...if you look in the search and put in Flat spots you will find what your looking for
Have a read of this you will have to just scroll down and read a few post....BIGFOG...szracer. http://www.defender2.net/forum/topic4681.h...p;start=15 NEVER TAKE LIFE SERIOUSLY. NOBODY GETS OUT ALIVE ANYWAY |

Cheers fekete
read the post and feel mine would benefit from the BAS remap as it is a bog standard Landy. Also like the option of having the EGR closed permanently, and being able to put the original tune back on the car any time I need too. Still it was good to read about both sides of having a remap done, both the happy ones and the not so happy. |
