I've had tunes from both Gary and Pete in the past and both are excellent at what they do, any flat spots can be ironed out at the time. Both can supply a box that has the tune on and can be down or uploaded at any time, both boxes read fault codes and both of them are helpful and have great backup. So lets not get into my dads bigger than yours as most of these tuning posts do. Having just spent 8 hours up on the rig floor with £1,000,000 worth of drilling tools stuck I aint in the mood for any more

Cheers Karl, will do. He was on here earlier so will give him a ring this week as Glyn seems to like his ATRIC tune. Would like to have the EGR close function though. Will give Pete at BAS and Gary at Alive a tinkle and see what remap would suit me for what I want to use the Landy for. As for price both are about the same, but with the BAS tune an extra £60 gets you the EGR to minimum remap, don't know if Alive offer this?
Did you go for another remap from anyone else? Just curious as pete, porny and alive all get good reviews in general for their remaps. Cheers Brian. |

I nearly completly ignored this thread.
I have the Alive 'ATRIC' map on mine and am super happy. On the map I have drove all over Wales, England, Scotland, Holland Germany and Austria, this included towing and off road and had no problems with it in the 5,000+ miles I have completed on it. There were occasions where it felt like there was a flat spot, but it wasn't all the time and I think it is a combination of how I was driving as now I never feel it. Gary has also sent a updated map through email The fault reading the other week also came in handy along with the help from this forum I will still end up getting a nanocom evo, but the ATRIC got me through that worry for now. I would recomend it to anyone, Glyn |

Well, I have my tune and happy with it and it seems every couple of months or so a tunning related thread comes up and goes in the same direction of who's is best so was being a little lazy but then read all the other 'new threads' and was left with it so though 'what the hell' I'll give it a read. Yeah, I see where you are coming from. The thing I have found after doing a search going back a couple of years is by how much the tuning tech changes. A problem last month seems to be solved today, hence why I think these come up every now and then and why they should so in the future, so you can make a choice based on current tech, whinges and praises for whatever supplier, known and fixed issues etc. That way you can get a good idea of whom to go too and what product to get. Though it hasn't helped me as I would gladly use all three on feedback gained so far from this forum

I agree Bri, everything is always being updated (hence why I went for the ATRIC). I can't put any of the companies down as I haven't heard anything bad from people who have used them, and to be honest I picked Gary at Alive because I know quite a few people who have had awesome experiences dealing with Alive and because he is always willing to go that little further (waiting around till 6:30pm on a November evening because I was running late and on another occasion emailing me in the evening when I was being a biff at setting up the unit ).
I am sure you will be more than happy with whichever unit you go for and I am sure it will make your Defender driving experience even better (it did mine ) I think you could hang around for years waiting to buy because you keep on hearing of "new features coming soon".... I got tired and went for it in the end never looked back Glyn |
