The trouble with an eye for an eye or dishing out a punishment that is gruesome, is that it would make the terrorist appear as a martyr to his IS collaborators and would ultimately make us no better than they.

While not wishing for any mercy for the man shot yesterday in some ways if he could have been arrested instead of shot dead perhaps he could have furnished much need intelligence to MI5 and others. For those who like Welsh Mountains and narrow boats have a look at my videos and photos at..

IMO the quickest way to end these attacks is to ban the world media from reporting them.
instead of yesterdays tragedy becoming world news and dissected and reported the way it was, a simple headline with 30 seconds air time! My 109 thread

I don't think punishing these b*stards makes us as bad as them. We are punishing them for comitng a gruesome crime, they are comiting a gruesome crime for no reason. I think the point about media is a good one. If nobody knew then they would be gaining nothing. These days you can't get people off bloody Facebook so they would probably publish videos or pictures themselves. 2009 2.4TDCi XS Utility Wagon.

I agree G-Mack. What should be headline news is this horrible tragedy http://www.bbc.com/news/world-europe-39372030

But we choose to ignore that.

That is not mainstream UK news, it's more appropriate as EU wide news.

Geographical location does matter. No Guts, No Glory.

With all of these type of attacks happening around the world I think it is time for our hard working police officers to have an advantage, they are brave souls but I feel they should be armed, ok not necessarily a live firearm as with a case like this it could fall into a Censored hands. They should however all be armed with a single shot taser, with the correct training and regular assessments it would be an invaluable tool for them. Yes this costs money and time but what is that compared to the life of an officer who is standing up for their country. 90 wolf - Jasmin http://www.defender2.net/forum/topic39408.html

It will still be the same in another 1,000 years if the planets still here it's something we have to live with but instead of using a Dinasour knuckle bone like cave men there using motor vehicles instead.

Money will be top priority to this govt, believe you me.
Money over lives is what they often do best.

As I said, I think all police except PCSO's should be armed akin to the USA.
Movement should be stopped on the border and those that have managed to get in here should be under a far higher level of surveillance.
Perhaps with luck, without the EU human rights affair they can be deported back to their original country in time.
Cameron said they should stay where they were originally, then when it came to taking action liberal lovies stopped him.
In other words Syrians must be protected but we can be killed on our own turf. No Guts, No Glory.

The majority of police officers do not want to be armed, and arming police is likely to increase the incidence of gun crime.

Mandatory capital punishment for persons convicted of killing on-duty law enforcement personnel might be more effective, but would be illegal under European law as well as socially controversial.

The only problem with our over prescribed and restrictive gun laws is that they only apply to the law abiding citizenry ie the very people who are the least risk of doing something inappropriate. It's the same with any other reactionary law we live under, green laning, using a handheld device in the car, murder, rape? They are all illegal but that is no deterrent to the determined. It affords the law breaker a degree of confidence to continue with their path knowing that the majority of the population who are going to object to their behaviour aren't possessed of a gun of their own and are immediately at a disadvantage. The knowledge that anyone could potentially be armed and able to retaliate on an equal footing makes following a negative path so much more difficult and less appealing. Kicking a puppy is easy to these people but it takes a whole lot of nerve to kick 12 stone of adult rottweiler. Rhubarb and custard let fly with their secret weapon.

What needs to change for a start is the lack of action from the mainstream Muslim community. Where are the Muslim crowds taking to the streets? Why no marches around Birmingham, Leicester, Slough or Bradford, with people waving placards proclaiming that "ALL Lives Matter" ??? It's easy to see that there's a lack of action by the Muslim community and it's exactly this " silence is complicity " that the fascist alt-right and bigoted, xenophobic racists will continue to exploit.
I.S. and it's cancerous network of nutters are not going to go away, they're not going to suddenly sit around a table and have a peace initiative drawn up. They're going to continue to kill and maim as many people, especially white, western people, as possible by using more and more depraved ways and means. When they have the time and resources they'll hack off heads, burn people alive or throw gay blokes off tall buildings. In western cities they'll use something easier but it won't be long before a dirty bomb becomes the weapon of choice.
I've seen quite a few army personnel in Rome, Florence and Venice, armed and patrolling, in addition to the Carabinieri. We need some of that here. We have the best armed forces in the world, let's make it clear to them that they won't get sued by Baroness Shami and her pals and make them a visible deterrent. If some nutter, using their hatred of western society as a reason, wants to kill innocent people before becoming a martyr, let's try to protect the innocent people whilst ensuring martyrdom arrives as quickly as possible. I'm certain the bleeding-heart progressives will find this horrifying and probably believe that Corbyn could talk nicely to I.S. and sort things out over a cup of Fair Trade tea and some of his home made jam. It's not going to happen. The best way to fight fire is with a fire extinguisher. As I posted earlier, well done and thank you to the officer who put some rounds into the murderer at Westminster.

/\ good point.....how come we've not seen riots pop up everywhere etc.

next time some druggie gets shot and there's riots out with the gpmg and get rid of the lot of them. Very Happy

happy Friday all and I very much hope there's no more fatalities from this incidence (unless it's by the police in an armed raid - hopefully in B'ham) and those still in hospital have a full and speedy recovery.
