110's gearbox/clutch ????? has thrown a fit this morning, the day before the Exmoor Challenge
Lots of clunking from the gearbox area when changing gear or when I take my foot off the throttle. At one point the ABS kicked in on a gear change 
In Yeovil LR at present but not holding my breath as the workshop is full today. It did sound terminal a couple of times, better it happened today I suppose. It was fine last night but the problem starting the minute I started driving this morning. Just wondering if it could be handbrake related ? Problem is Yeovil have not got a Defender to lend me so it's everything crossed at the moment. Forgot to say, apart from all the horrible noises, ABS kicking in etc, the gear change was suddenly as smooth as silk, I have never driven a Defender with such a good gear change.

Just coming up to 20, 000. Three clutches so far. Thanks Steve, when can I pick it up ? The village children are doing a sponsored pressure wash at the end of the event so it should not be to dirty

Somethings obviously not right there Bob. They need to find out what the problem is before the warranty runs out and if it has already run out recognise it has been an ongoing problem to sort 
Even the high mileage hard towers clutches last for thousands of miles. I wonder if they are putting on the old style clutch from stock each time! Hopefully it sounds as though the problem has finally been found with this breakdown. They need to put in a new gearbox and clutch by the sound of it. |

MJ Fews, Wooton Under Edge Glos. They have two spare 110's. Or at least they did last year. Probably too far for you though to go just for that

Anybody fancy two days on Exmoor - we have raised all the sponsorship needed and I think all it would cost is the entrance fee for the extra person (which I am sure can be sorted ) ?
