Woooooah... Bet that made a lot of noise. I have never known a QT style diff guard to come off. Have had them on both my Defenders and they are solid. Best diff guards IMHO too...

Weird...

But I do sympathise about the noise. In my younger days I Eva (previous 90) chewed up a rear UJ, so took the prop off and because I desperately needed to get to the office I tightened up the transmission brake, chucked Eva in to diff lock and drove off. Pretty chuffed with myself.

Until... Rolling Eyes The transmission brake drum nuts unscrewed and the drum hit the road (in the middle of the high street) with an almighty clang and rolled back down the hill, clanging all the way... It really would have made an amazing tv sketch. Got to get the drum, but have no hand brake on a hill and overlooked by many people out shopping Rolling with laughter

It did make a lot of noise, more than when my front prop shaft tried to come through the floor plate under my feet Shocked

The diff guard has been on 10 + years with not one problem, so i'm thinking it was " helped " to come off Mad Clayton.

Same as what I have Clayton.
Has it been impacted a little greenlaning? That may have something to do with it but maybe not, it’s difficult to say.

The clamp on round ones are renowned for coming off which is why I went for the QT’s as well.

I would imagine the lowermost bolts have came loose first, as they are fitted almost vertically with the head nearest the ground. TheThunder Rolls🇬🇧🇺🇸

Utter Censored of a job but I rebuilt the fuel pressure regulator, there was a semi significant diesel leak that appeared last week.

I used a rebuild kit form x8r as the replacement part was on back order, it wasn’t that hard to rebuild one it was off the truck.

Thus far 100 miles in it seems to have done the trick but I’m keeping a close eye on it.

Fitted a set of Uproar4x4 Renegade stainless steel rocksliders. Pricey, but worth the premium in my opinion. Arrived in 48 hours, in exceptionally thorough packaging (a bit ironic given their purpose, but I suppose we all like stuff to be pristine on arrival!); superb finish; supplied with clear, well-illustrated fitting guidance, and loads of spare fittings. Very solid, with plenty of fitting tolerance in the supports, which was just as well. My nearside and offside turned out to be noticeably different in shape and size.

I'm very pleased. I've been able to do away with my beaten up sills and rusty side steps, mostly jammed solid after impacts (ahem). It will be a shame when the rocksliders get knocked, but that is the point...

I am thinking that some judicious application of non-slip bed liner might provide a bit of protection to the coating from grubby shoes, and enable them to function as step substitutes.

No connection to Uproar4x4!

oooh.. got a pic? I'm in the market for some sliders (mainly for side impact protection)

Today has been quite productive. Having had wipers go haywire on Tuesday, quickly ordered parts to overhaul as MOT is Tuesday, but on extracting the dash I find that this nut had come loose causing the issues, so didn't need a full strip out (phew) just some fettling. Used the new arms and blades to smarten her up on the outside. and now have a spare motor wheel boxes and crank
on the shelf

All wipers and washers now fully functioning Thumbs Up

Next started to look at my inter-cooler which has been a state since I bought her a year ago.... To be honest I'm amazed it wasn't blowing:

Just letting them dry overnight and in the morning a nice shiny new Mahoosive inter-cooler is going in Whistle

Made myself a nice new set of jump leads and fitted an Anderson connector in the engine bay. Too much time spent wrestling with bloody convoluted tubing meant I ran out of time to connect it all up to the battery, but it’s ready to go.

I often do the same with some wiring stuff, do it in stages sometimes makes it that bit easier and a a nicer job to do.

Today?? ... Well actually the last three days on and off Exclamation

Since purchasing my Defender 90 back in October I've been doing "something" most days. But the last three days I've done seven oil changes and two filter changes.

Then did a test run for leaks and found my radiator had sprung a leak Crying or Very sad

So, the seven oil / filter changes ... a new radiator then decided on new coolant hoses and a new Oil breather filter.

Then round the block again ... and NO leaks to date Whistle
