Had a kiss with the motorway barrier today in Belgium:(
Staying positive. Chassis and drivetrain seem ok, as am I. Managed to complete my journey to family in the Netherlands. Absolute kudos to the Belgian police for getting to me in about 10 minutes and being super friendly and helpful. ![]() Click image to enlarge ![]() Click image to enlarge 2010 90 HT |

Fitted Focal AC 100’s in front, thanks to all who assisted with my decision.
![]() Click image to enlarge Shortly after taking the pic, I realised I’d not put the cover base on.. so had to remove and refit ![]() Click image to enlarge Sound is far far superior to the stock speakers, which, let’s be honest doesn’t take much 😂 |

Looks good, if you get time at a later date you can fit them so you can get the grilles square on, using supplied clips and drilled holes.

Ahh yes, the clips… I didn’t find them till I got the passenger side speaker out of the box. They’d stuck themselves to the magnet, I was fitting them in my lunch break so didn’t have time to remove and refit the drivers side.
They’ll now be added to the things I have to do list 😂 2009 Stornaway Grey Puma Build Thread |

Yeah, they always head towards the magnets.
![]() If you do line them up, take a lot of time, some blue 3m mask is ideal. If you get just the right drill bit size, those screws will tap a thread in, and you can use the clips as well. I used both then they are nice and secure. They just look nicer square on, but is only visual, they are secure as you’ve fitted them as well. ![]() ⛽️🛢️⚙️🧰💪 |

Today in my Defender I heard a story that I'd think is worth re-telling.
I took my colleague out for lunch and as we walked towards the parking she got a huge smile on her face and out of nowhere said: "Yes! I get to ride in a Land Rover!" As she jumped in, radiating of joy, she told me that when in university she had a classmate that had a Land Rover. She rode with her on a few occasions and she had thought then that that was a really cool car. I told her that this is the thing with Land Rovers, they put smiles on peoples faces. You rode with a classmate more than 20 years ago and you shine of joy just talking about it. How many other car rides that you have had bring out that happiness? We agreed that the list would be very short. I should point out that in Sweden we don't have many Defenders, to see one is rare and to ride in one even rarer. They were more frequent 20 years ago but still very small numbers. Of course there are other cars that can make people smile and create long lasting memories. But I think that the Land Rover in its modesty, ranks very high on smiles. |
