Thanks Dinnu, that's really interesting. Like you say with the internet the days of picking up LR's for only a few notes are well and truely over
![]() Shame about losing the beach drives. I feel that is the way it's going everywhere. But on a cheerier note... great build thread!! ![]() MY2012 110 2.2TDCi XS SW Orkney Grey - http://www.defender2.net/forum/topic43410.html MY1990 110 200TDi SW beautifully faded Portofino Red - https://www.defender2.net/forum/post743641.html#743641 MY1984 90 V8 Slate Grey - https://www.defender2.net/forum/post744557.html#744557 Instagram @suffolk_rovers |

Finally the final coat on the front end of the chassis is done. First coat of paint was drying a bit too flat , so next coats I added a bit of lacquer to the semi matt black paint (about 15%) to get a bit bit more gloss. Pleased with the result, and the sheen matches the rear end of the chassis quite well.

Thank you Clayton.
Very satisfying to look at a clean bare chassis.. pity that will be covered by the body and rest stuff.....or I have a problem and need to pay a visit to the madhouse? Anyway, I should start with the bulkhead very soon, or rebuild the engine as parts have arrived. Seems to be good weather at this moment for painting.. later may be too hot. Once I had a case where the paint (2k) started curing in the spraygun. Thats how hot it can be! Since then I started using slower hardeners. 1988 90 Hard Top, 19J Diesel Turbo, Shire Blue - Restoration ongoing 2012 90 CSW, 2.2TDCI, Santorini Black |

Yes it is a shame that you have to cover it up, but on the other hand at least you know it will last now it's as good as new. wow it must get hot were your to as i have not heard of that with the paint
![]() As from what your saying it looks as if the weather will dictate on which you work on with the bulkhead or engine on any given day ![]() 1996 Golf Blue 300Tdi 110 Pick up. Keeper. |

Started with some work on the bulkhead. The green stuff in the corners is unfortunately body filler. I had repaired the top corners some 25 years ago, and the welding (I had used acetylene back then as did not have a mig) had warped a bit the plates. But since the welding is still strong and there were no signs of issues in 25 years I thought that it should last a few more years again.

Thank you guys.
Re the seam sealer, yes, i need to re do some spots on the outside. Landrover did not apply seam sealer on the inside, and I think they never did up to 2016. Which kind of make sense to me as there could be a risk of moisture getting trapped there if seamed on both sides. Did others got better results if they seam sealed the inside as well? 1988 90 Hard Top, 19J Diesel Turbo, Shire Blue - Restoration ongoing 2012 90 CSW, 2.2TDCI, Santorini Black |
