Yesterday i had a call from John regarding the pump as they were setting up the equipment to test a few pumps and what i wanted to do if they could not find anything wrong with my pump, i replied back by saying " if you can't find nothing wrong with the pump, then can you put it back to standard ( i had the pump upgraded ) as it's no good to me as it is " okay he said and he will get back in touch next week to let me know the outcome of the pump 1996 Golf Blue 300Tdi 110 Pick up.

I had a call from John regarding the injection pump, he said that there was nothing wrong with it and it was ready to be picked up. The way the weather was today i was lucky enough to go and pick my pump up on the way home from the prep work that we were doing up at our store. The pump is back to standard now and will be put on a shelf in my shed to be a spare when needed, the only bit of good news after all this, is that they gave me a £46 refund
This is not the outcome i wanted, so i will have to do some more homework now 1996 Golf Blue 300Tdi 110 Pick up. Keeper. Clayton. |

Hey Clayton,
Sorry to hear you're puzzling with this. I sent my pump down to Electro Diesel and spoke to John a few times. When they did the pre-test he said mine was 15% below standard, then they tweaked it. I've been very happy with it. But I was puzzling over your symptoms. This is probably a really basic suggestion, which you or your indy will already have considered - but it's not mentioned. Did you change or check the vacuum advance pipe - the one that runs from the turbo to the fuel pump? When I first investigated mine, I found a couple of small-ish but significant holes where it had rubbed through against the fuel pipes. If there are small leaks here, it would stop the pump diaphragm giving enough fuel advance. At low revs, this might be more important and reduce your torque?? A few ifs and maybes in there... and like I say it's maybe too obvious a suggestion. EDIT: Lift pump? Hi Don
Yes we did put a new Vacuum pipe on to make sure This is where the puzzle gets more interesting, so when the tweaked pump came off and my spare went on, the difference between them was chalk n cheese Your last paragraph sums it up perfect which seems to be happening to the tweaked pump, but putting my spare pump on with no other changes is what is so strange, it was like it was the tweaked one, but it's a totally standard pump I still think that there is something wrong with the pump that no one can find out what it is 1996 Golf Blue 300Tdi 110 Pick up. Have you tried PF Jones? I believe they are diesel specialists that could maybe investigate? Although, I don’t know if that is what they will undertake but maybe worth a look?
That’s where my VCV came from, they do lots of diesel parts and stuff and probably repairs. ⭐️⭐️God Bless the USA 🇬🇧🇺🇸 ⭐️⭐️ |
