If it's a D4 chassis and running gear it'll be a winner, I drove one last week and it's fantastic. If as has been suggested it's another crappy 4 cylinder engine then it won't. It looks a whole lot better than the Toyota FJ Cruiser |

It's just not very cool at the end of the day. The naff G4 paint job doesn't help things either. I think the design team should be made to drive to Capetown in a Defender .It would get the car in their blood and soul and might inspire a different approach, certainly some more respect for it. Clearly there's none in these first pics 110 HT TD5 - 110 XS SW Puma

Or buy a Discovery and join D3.net Last time I checked (this morning) I didn't have any woolly underpants or a beard. Last edited by mooro47 on 1st Sep 2011 12:50pm. Edited 1 time in total |

If Jeep can still make a model very similar to your vehicle emblem, can not really land rover? Come on, do not make me laugh.
If you give Do you want your audience that is as easy as taking the car today, leak-free mount, put the soundproofed and insulated house and stick a modern engine (that meets the European standard as it takes), with td4 are very close. .... I do not understand the problem of defending. http://www.clublandrovertt.org/index.php?a...ype=avatar |

Surely by it having a winch on it shows it's not going any place a normal defended would go without one
Lets hope it looms nothing like it or at least if it does make sure the under side is descent so we can still at least modify Regards steve 2015 2.2 tdci hardtop xs 3.2 conversion DONE 238bhp and 707nm torque and thats just the start ;-P hybrid turbo in build -done ready to fit ashcroft atb in transfer box 6 speed auto in build |

I think the most important question here is: why bring this out? It's basically a Disco, with a few small visual tweaks. Based on the reporting I've been reading it will also have terrain response and probably a heap of other gadgets to go wrong and break down.
So they're bringing out a Disco and calling it a Defender. Yay. Not impressed. |
