Thanks again Clayton
Managed to get some aluminium cubby boxes made for behind the locker doors at the weekend. Fitted in place and all covered in stone chip. Looking good with your boxes all made up and in place, taking on a better look now with the paint on 1996 Golf Blue 300Tdi 110 Pick up.

That looks great. I'm not usually a fan of Raptor paint but yours does look very nice, indeed.
The boxes look good, too. My only slight concern would be what looks like a mud trap that's been created between the back of each box and the side of the tub. Perhaps a shield along similar lines to the Gwyn Lewis ones would help? Thank you both, I’m happy with the way it’s looking so far!
You’re right about the boxes. The original fag packet design used the tub as part of the rear of the box but with the strengthening ribs and the fact the wheel arch is not quite 90 degrees made me decide to build it as a separate unit. Now the tubs in place I’ll see what I can do as a mud shield. 1997 Ex-MOD 110, Pop Top Camper, build thread https://www.defender2.net/forum/topic72352.html 2014 Discovery 4 SE Tech Instagram @the110camper |

Bolted a few more bits on...
Seatbox in, Click image to enlarge Optimill fuel cap, Click image to enlarge Side panels panels fitted, then unwrapped the roof eventually, Click image to enlarge Click image to enlarge And....bolted in place! Click image to enlarge Click image to enlarge Click image to enlarge Still need to seal it up but need to get the windscreen in first as the shelf that fits inside fits very close to the frame so no chance of pulling the screen rubber in with it in place. 1997 Ex-MOD 110, Pop Top Camper, build thread https://www.defender2.net/forum/topic72352.html 2014 Discovery 4 SE Tech Instagram @the110camper |

Really admire the attention to detail, all the shiny bolts and hardware.. everything painted before assembly
Do you plan to give the zinc plated parts some form of clear protective coating? Only thing that I would have probably done is painted the dampers black. Not a fan of bright colours myself. 1988 90 Hard Top, 19J Diesel Turbo, Shire Blue - Restoration ongoing 2012 90 CSW, 2.2TDCI, Santorini Black |

Thank you Dinnu.
Yes, all the chassis and suspension bolts are coated with Dinitrol Korrotec 485 (transparent protective wax) after assembly/tightening, I also do the brake pipes with it. Your right about the dampers, they do stand out too much for liking too, I might end up painting them! 1997 Ex-MOD 110, Pop Top Camper, build thread https://www.defender2.net/forum/topic72352.html 2014 Discovery 4 SE Tech Instagram @the110camper |
