I took delivery of a new defender a few weeks ago and it did not come with the usual EKA code card. When I queried this with the dealer they provided the code, so yes they are still used.

Hi,
Got my Defender a few weeks ago and dealer did not give me a EKA code. Asked the salesperson who told me Defenders dont have a code like this. He even went and asked the technicians who knew nothing of this. Can anyone who has managed to get it out of a dealer tell me where exactly the dealers found this code from? Is is somehwere in the paperwork the dealer gets? My dealer is stating they cannot find this code at all. Thanks, MalithS |

Of course there is still an EKA code, after I asked the dealer they provided mine for a 16MY Landmark in September.

If not with the vehicle, the dealer should/must get your EKA code from “Land Rover Traceability”.

Persevere with your dealer. I initially got the "no don't have them any more" response as well.......
Then after a bit more of a push and the dealer starting to realise that I might actually know what I am talking about..... They filled in an online request to the Dealer Support system. A couple of hours later the code is sent back to the originator...........along with a caveat that said they must explain to the owner why this sensitive information is not freely available. TBH I can see their point. How many EKA code cards were left in the car cubby box with the manuals...... Good luck MY15.5 110XS CSW 1956 88" S1 2004 Tomcat 106 Comp safari |

I too had to ask the dealer for my 15MY's EKA as it wasn't supplied on delivery.
Dealer was happy to track it down when I asked, but it took a couple of weeks to come through as they had to go back to the factory to obtain it. |

hi Ryan, are you able to help retrieve EKA code for us guys in Aus? have been waiting for my dealer to give me mine for 4 months with no luck. almost seems unbelievable as they claim to be the biggest Land rover dealer in Sydney.

Why is this so hard to get right, why are so many dealers getting caught out?

I have the same problem & only yesterday sent Ryan a PM with his list of questions answered. I truly hope he can sort this out as the Australian dealer I have dealt with has been hopeless, & I've given up contacting them, as they are just not responsive. |

Yesterday I rang the dealer's salesman who sold me a new 90 - he was a self confessed Defender nerd, not your usual LR salesman who's only interested in Disco's and FFRR. When asked about the EKA code, he hadn't a clue what I was talking about, "never heard of it" he said but he did say he would investigate and come back to me. I can understand vehicles being delivered to the dealers without the EKA being part of the literature pack (for security reasons) but one would have thought that they would have obtained the EKA code prior to handover to the customer along with the LR assist card, keys and manuals etc. Defender 90XS SW
