EKA Code
Hi
Just collected my new 110 Defender. It says in the owners handbook there is an Emergency Key Access Code (EKA code) on the security card. It is a four digit code to disarm the alarm and re-mobilise the engine if the remote fails.
Don't have a security card or a four digit number.
My dealership tells me there now isn't one. Suspecting he might be taking the easy option and saving himself the bother of chasing it up, could you confirm if I should have received such a code.
Thanks in advance
Phil

If it is fitted with a 10AS alarm then it will have a EKA code. Get the dealer to plug in their diagnostic gear and they can read the code direct from the 10AS settings page. Thumbs Up

Thanks for those two replies, thought my dealer was being lazy. Will chase it up.

Hi Apisboy,

Apologies for the delayed response on this, if you are still having trouble, could you please PM me with your vehicle details and the specific retailer and I would be happy to look into this further.

Many thanks,
Pete

I have had exactly the same conversation with my dealer (Grange Barnet) last week

I asked about the missing Security Card after reading manual. Sales person checked with the sales manager and simply told me "there seems to be no EKA codes".

So what happens if the remote is lost or damaged?

Ryan, I will PM you. 2015 110 XS CSW Montalcino Red with Black Pack

EKA code is still mentioned in the 15MY Owners Handbook, pages 5&6.
Also in the Quick Start Guide page 3.
And finally it says on the PDI checksheet under "Quality Assurance Checks" 28: Ensure vehicle literature pack and security item contents are correct. 29: Place literature pack, mats and security items in vehicle.

All of which points to the fact that the dealer should be supplying your vehicle complete with the EKA code.

Seems Grange made an error when responding to me saying "no EKA codes" - I am thankful to Ryan at LR for resolving this. 2015 110 XS CSW Montalcino Red with Black Pack

Seems to be recurring theme:
After nearly 16 years of faithful service, I've just traded my TD5 for a 2.2 90 Hardtop.(not to mention the years of various Series models before that)
After only 4 days I'm loving the new vehicle - brakes, heaters, gearing that all work!
However I too received the user manual but no security card, even though it's specifically mentioned.
Dealer salesman rang with a follow-up call today to check all OK & when I queried this I too received the :
' They don't supply them anymore, the handbook is out of date' response.
OK so now his feedback score has slipped form 10/10 to 8/10 for service as I understand from here that there should have been one.
The vehicle is much improved, but the Landrover service is same old!

Default dealer reply. When I collected my motor from Duckworths there was no eka code written in the handbook. I questioned it there and then, the salesman disappeared for 2 mins and came back with my code. Just looked it up on their system no problem.

It seems that it's the security card that's no longer supplied in spite of what it says in the handbook, another chat with the sales person and the EKA has been provided.
So sales person most helpful.

Got mine yesterday. MY 2012.

The original salesperson or dealer has not been able to help Confused
New dealer said, EKA code only for older Pumas with small plimps (until 2013 or so) and helped me out.

Carefully choose your dealer Laughing

I asked for this EKA code for my MY16 And was told it no longer applied. However, if the vehicle is locked and alarmed and I try to open it with the key the alarm goes off.
Will next try an email to dealer.
Will also ask for sound system codes.
