As my Land Rover dealer told me this week - even he is surprised at how quickly Defenders are coming off the Solihull production line this month. Defenders that were planned for delivery in January are arriving pre-Christmas.
Maybe they are in an all out rush to clear the decks before the Christmas and New Year holidays - if so I trust quality control is not the first casualty? |

When I take mine all so white to be cleaned a jet wash directed at the door seals leak - I get a spray of water - but in 2,500 miles in normal use rain etc I've not got wet, so just try to make sure I avoid direct jet wash to the door seals
White is so cool both when clean & they look good dirty like they are meant to be 2020 P300 HSE |

Too be honest with you all it hasn't put me off the Land Rover at all, at the end of the day its a defender, they all have their faults, I've already been thinking of ways to stop the problems.
And as i a forum member has quoted before "you never own a defender you look after it" Also. i have no carpets or ply wood in the back yet so its just the tub, maybe your defenders are leaking water in the rear tub you just don't know it… But anyways. Happy Days |

Today i decided to call into the dealers to see what they can do to the water leak.
They're ordering new seals for the doors, and sealing the underside. So i pick it up tomorrow afternoon. So job its all good. They've gave me a nice 13plate 90 black XS to drive, must admit, i like my white one better… |

Ive had a few spare hours today so I've did a few little mods
Click image to enlarge[/img] Im not a fan of cubby boxes, so i wanted to make some thing to hide all my electronics when I'm not using them. To get access behind the storage compartment i just need to move the top of the seat forward. Click image to enlarge[/img] Mounted the a second reverse light, I'm going to wire this up to the reverse light but also make it so i can switch it on Click image to enlarge[/img] Mounted iPad and twin USB socket to the tray Ive also ordered a rear mat, should be with me monday. Looking good - Interested in your I-pad fitting - how did you wire up the power supply/USB connections?

The iPad mount is made by RAM, i have just used three self tapper screws to secure it.
I still need to wire the USB socket up. But short term, I'm just going to connect it straight to the battery with a fuse on the live. Hopefully that will be done tomorrow I have a 12way fuse board, i just can't decide on the best place to put it yet. Any ideas? |

Aux Fuse box is normally good in the battery box
I hope you get your rubber mat alright, the Liverpool LR Centre as they used to call themselves couldn't organise a up in a brewery! They're in driving distance from me, but I don't use them anymore! I think I'm going to mount the fuse board behind the passenger seat, I had it there on my old defender. Quite a good location I think.
I bought the mat from a company on ebay, I was just using that company as an example. But will know not too use it in the future. Thanks I have some made by britax. http://www.flashing-beacons.co.uk/index.ph...ts_id=2096 I have 4, two for the front and two for the rear even though I might change them for these http://www.visionalert.co.uk/products/prod...mp;menuId= And mount them on the inside pointing out the rear quarter windows |

Nice choice! We've got some of the second type in some of our trucks. Very well made and robust!
Btw: I hope nobody jokingly writes a "Y" at the end of your number plate... ORG"Y" An engine to TDi for! "Land Rover- Proudly turning drivers into mechanics since 1948" |

I got too choose from three number plates
Yeah it's our pit, 80ft long. We have a dairy and transport company. we run 100 trucks so a decent workshop is needed! One more good thing about owning a dairy is we have a stock of stainless steel nuts and bolts. So the defender over time will be having a stainless steel make over! |
