I got a total of £2800 knocked off the price.
5% nfu discount 5% off the dealer then they had to take £700 off to match the price of the of the 2013 spec model |

You had a great deal as the dealer messed up over the 2013 / 2014 Model however, when I was looking for a new 90 I noticed a couple of dealers who claimed to be offering a 10% discount which infact was 5% from them and 5% NFU, this I think is a little underhand as the NFU discount of 5% is to be considered as above and beyond what the dealer offer (and shouldn't have anything to do with the dealer) - You should be able to acheive 8 - 10% PLUS 5% NFU discount

Im just going to have to bite the bullet now, they have messed up with my finance documents 4 times, so i have had four credit checks in the last 2 days.
1 they didn't discount the defender to what was agreed 2 they didn't put the correct deposit figures in 3 they put it through at the wrong apr 4 they put my date of birth in wrong. I don't want to risk another credit check. |

I'd visit Experian, because that number of checks may have knocked your rating down!
I have heard 3 checks in 3 months can have an effect! |

They were trying to do things to quickly, its really annoying.
One thing i don't understand is how i have managed to get finance for a £25k defender but can't get accepted for a credit card or a mobile phone contract? |

If you'r giving them a 30% deposit you are only borrowing 18k... but still!
Have you seen the offer I think Guy Salmon are offering? 0% APR over 24months... I doubt they'd offer much off the list price though! |

Be very careful, Black Horse are absolute f**kers for running credit checks – on my (non-LR) car purchase it took 3 attempts, all of which were full searches on my file. The third attempt was at the dealership, about to collect my keys, for the most spurious of reasons. Not once did I receive any communication from Black Horse explaining what had happened. Once you are in possession of your vehicle, write to Black Horse and insist all but one of the searches is removed from your file. There’s no reason to let their incompetence ruin your credit history.

So you're paying approx £500 a month then? Or is there a balloon payment at the end? (assuming that this is HP, not lease)

Is having a credit search that bad. Is there a limit to how many you can have. I have two things out on finance. Making me worry.

Lots of searches over a short period will make you a worse prospect to lend to.

Right so, the dealer has just left.
As they have messed up with my finance deal. They have had to put another £1000 towards my deposit for the finance deal. in other words, less monthly payments. The defender has finally been delivered to the dealer, so I'm going to see it this afternoon WOOOOOOOOOOOO |

Is this deal on or off and actually what is the deal - I'm getting confused
I thought Lewis was negotiating a really good deal and now he's getting the dealer to put another £1000 on the table - Wow! he must have the sales guy in tears as his bonus goes out the window just before Christmas - think of the sales guy and his family eating gruel on Christmas day and no presents for his children. I logged on expecting to see Lewis had crossed the finishing line, won the prize and was displaying his trophy - so near and yet so far! edit - now I see the prize above Last edited by Cuthbert on 13th Dec 2013 5:14pm.
