Hey mrwoo, i had the same thing as u it didnt pop up at the very first moment but only after a a few miles, i'll be getting a scanguage hopefully friday so i can read out the faults of the ecu and reset the management light and hopefully it wont reappear Whistle

We'll see how it goes but its nice to see u had the same positive results as me except for the light ofcourse Thumbs Up

U removed the blanking plate yet?

Yes, I put the normal gasket back in this evening. I'm hoping to that the light will go off after driving it a bit like Pete suggested. I look forward to hearing the ECU results when you find out more.
What I dont understand is that with the plate everything sounds normal with lights, why aren't there any lights for what I thought was a faulty EGR in the first place? Confused

I was wondering if disconnecting the cable off the EGR valve itself might get rid of the light?

cheers

Yes, it's gone out again now after around 50 miles of driving. I think like Pete said it's needs around 3 driving cycles to clear it down.

It wont damage anything by blanking , at the worst it will do what its already done on some of them , put a light on that should auto clear once the ecu sees that its not a permanent DTC.

Because we know that the fault was caused by the blanking its not possibile for it to store as permanent so in every case it should as a mater of course clear its self.

Just looking how you fit this blanking plate I see the cup holder on top of the engine cover has a cap on it should they all have this as mine hasn't got one and didn't from new

IS it best to fit blanking plate if have ECU remap would it help run better ?

Mine doesnt have that cap either mate but theres no use for it, just use for what u said as a cupholder or a place to put your screws while thinkering around in the engine bay, best thing about the ford engine Rolling with laughter Thumbs Up

Mrwoo,

I got the scanguage and its a nice little handy thing, i found the error and deleted it and it stays gone for now, done a bit of driving already so hopefully it will stay away Cool

U can see lots of stuff on this scanguage, how much mpg etc etc u r getting, rmps, motor temperature, and the list goes on lol.

Anyways the engine is still going strong without the annoying rumble on tick over so i am VERY happy Twisted Evil

Oh the error was massflow air sensor in range but higher then expected so nuthing to worry bout Thumbs Up

Greetings Verdone
