Mrwoo,

I got the scanguage and its a nice little handy thing, i found the error and deleted it and it stays gone for now, done a bit of driving already so hopefully it will stay away Cool

U can see lots of stuff on this scanguage, how much mpg etc etc u r getting, rmps, motor temperature, and the list goes on lol.

Anyways the engine is still going strong without the annoying rumble on tick over so i am VERY happy Twisted Evil

Oh the error was massflow air sensor in range but higher then expected so nuthing to worry bout Thumbs Up

Greetings Verdone

Thanks for the update Verdone, I might put my blanking plate back in then and try and get my local LR specialist to clear the fault. Let me know please if your warning light stays off? Thumbs Up

Cheers Rich... Cow

Which scangauge did you get Verdone and where did you get it from? I would like to be able to clear and check my own fault codes as well?

Cheers

Cheers for that Verdone, they are only 20 miles from me! What exactly does yours do when plugged into the Defender? Does it do MPG, trip mileage etc? I have been looking at this one http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vie...otohosting, but not sure if it is the right thing.
Any advice happily received! 2019 MY Disco 5 HSE Lux

The one u r looking at is way more advanced, mine is like a more simple version of it, depends what u want out of it tbh, like yours will have the ability to plug into ur pc and watch cool graphs etc Wink

Mine is a more simple version, doesnt plug into a pc, so i cant see shiny graphs, it show alot of stuff though like tripmeter, mpg, rpms, motor temperature etc etc i havent looked very closely into it because all i needed it for was searching for the fault and clearing it, so all in all it depends what u need and then see whats on the market, the thing is the one u showed will work perfect aswell since the new ford engine with the new ecu doesnt use a special obd2 dialect like the td5 did so u should be fine Thumbs Up

Anyways im not rlly a expert on the matter, but if any more question ask me on pm so we dont litter pete's topic Rolling with laughter

I've met Pete and a PROPER bloke he is to Thumbs Up , I am sure he won't mind us bumping his thread to the top! We both have blanking plates, mine was initially a tight arsed home made jobby that I put on the other valve so much more complicated to fit, and I have promised him that I will also blank off the other side purely for research purposes Mr. Green I have stopped the surging by putting my home made in, but there is still a little bit of reluctance to pull from 70 mph in 6th, if you drop it down to 5th it pulls all the way through to 80 mph and then into 6th and on to 101 mph on the runway of my local aerodrome. So maybe after blanking off the one he recommends it will even better Very Happy 2019 MY Disco 5 HSE Lux

PS im looking into a cheap basic scan tool and live data logger for this car because i belive it may help there owners, i should have some answers soon hopefully.

Ill keep you posted.

ALSO
what do you all think about switchable remaps on your pumas ??? you can have a bellautos standalone gadget that will program thecar from tuned to standard as many times as you wish at your will.

Ill prob start another thread on this one so i can keep track easer.

Hi Pete, any more news on how we can get the fault lamp off while leaving the EGR plate in?

Verdone can you use the Scan Guage to permanatly correct the fault caused by the EGR plate?

Thanks Rich

Fault has returned, so i either delete it again, but thats just crap, so i'm gonna dril a 5mm hole in the blanking kit for now.

Since its a ford engine i went on ford forums and they said drilling a 5mm hole in it will still fool the egr but the light wont come on? Whistle
