blanket - rather common mod here... there are many sizes for different cars, it's made somewhere in Russia
you don't need to take it off at all, it's heavy enough to keep form. use - as shown on photo - you tidy put it in and close the bonnet, that's all. It's approved for use in cars and made for that. material - some type of fiberglass.
