Now I'm getting the following two faults. Perhaps this just isn't meant to be...

an important question, is your screen new from the factory? or used screen?

hi Deekay, as I have written other times, buying a new factory screen from summer is a great thing, however to make the system work you have to connect the car to the Pathfinder or Topix Cloud program, the official Land Rover programs, this is necessary because it new factory screen did not load the software, and without this software it will never work…. there are guys in your area who offer this service, they also write regularly on the forum. I'm sorry I can't help you.

This is interesting. It's a shame I didn't catch it earlier. The IIDTool can, of course, upgrade/flash the SW on an ECU. If this all that's needed, there's no need to go to a 3rd party....

Marco, did you talk to Patrick about this issue?

Hi Steve, I knew about this feature, didn't think it was possible on Defender l663. I will write to Patrick, all brand new modules require flashing software, Headlights, blind spot modules, sat nav, wireless phone charging, etc... thanks Thumbs Up

Hello Marco, I think you've looked into retrofitting the clear exit detection. Have you made any progress? 23.5MY Defender 110 D250 HSE

I (finally) upgraded from the 10" to the 11.4" screen over the weekend. So pleased with the ease of install, and the GAP took made it all too easy.

The screen I used was from a 2022 E-Pace, FYI.

I also swapped out the white crossbeam for a dark crossbeam at the same time.

I did need to trim the top pad about 1/2" above the screen bracket in order for the screen to sit back in its proper position, which I used a utility knife to cut. After the swap, I uploaded the new CCF, allowed the car to shutdown completely, then did a hard reset on the screen. Amazingly happy.

How are people modifying the top rail? Anyone have some photos or tips?
I'd rather not buy a complete new rail.
I can see Hunters modifying one in one of their videos below:

I modified my top trim piece the same way with a multi tool and a metal plate to protect the trim material while cutting the plastic away.

I actually purchased a used top trim piece from a crashed V8 defender for £60 to use a template/guide to know where exactly to cut for the 11.4 screen.

That's great! thanks for that!

Are you happy with how you modified the rail? Does it all look ok? Did you re-glue or staple back the fabric after cutting the plastic away?

I used this trim adhesive. The screen covers the newly recessed trim but it looked oem.
