New Airbox from Alisport
Looks good, similar concept to the Nugget one, but with the correct mounting arrangement for the cartridge which should avoid the problem of finding replacement filters.

It does look nice in the engine bay and the removal of the factory air ducting can only be a good thing.

Worse than that, it is £507 plus VAT ! Very nice though.

I'm intrigued to see that the "low intake" version is vastly cheaper at a mere £283 plus VAT, but I am guessing that it may not come with the wing intake and pipe on the theory that you will use the OEM pipework. However it is probably ideal if you already have a Nuggetstuff or Nakatanega induction pipe set-up.

I might ne day be tempted to replace my Nuggetstuff filter with this one!

Great video...interesting to see the graphs on the benefits of improved intake airflow. I have experienced the same with the nakatanenga intake pipe coupled to the nuggetstuff v2 airbox.

Somewhat underplays the ease of getting the old airbox out, noting looks like the siide bracket is broke which makes it a bit easier. Very Happy

Did not mention any water drain facility, so assume it does not have one

I’m sure you could mod the nugget stuff v2 box to have a sealed bolt (using rubber seals flat washers and a nut) going through the top of the airbox , through the filter, then a rubber seal, large washer and then nut to do an airtight clamp to the lid. Mimicking the alisport solution.

It is a really nice product, same as their TD5 ones, but it certainly will not add 38bhp.

Either that puma was HUGELY overfueling and needed that extra airflow or its just a barefaced lie.

You cannot add 38bhp with an airbox and no tuning, cant believe that video was posted in the first place.

For those that want a bigger air box and are fairly handy speak to Wrecker Fabrication, he makes very similar boxes for the TD5s just need a bit of fettling and work to fit, but a fraction of the cost. Instagram @defender_ventures

I agree that it can’t be 38BHP...what I’ve noticed is a better more lively feel to the engine in all areas but nothing close to 30% more BHP

Re the power gain, he does say in the video “From the top of my head,at the top end of the Rev range it’s 38 horse power”, so it’s not just a typo, but he must have got that wrong.

I was also wondering how the lid sealed to the box, but then noticed it’s a seal on the top of the box. I would hope they will sell spare seals as at some point that might deteriorate or get inadvertently damaged.

He does make the statement that the 38bhp increase is at the top end of the rev range and if you look at the dyno graph in the video it does show that sort of bhp difference at around 4200 rpm. Obviously you're unlikely to drive around at that sort of revs, but there looks to be an increase over the whole rev range.
