Hi All - do you know of the G4 tool can activate the 13.1 inch screen? I don’t see the option but wondering if the 11.4 selection may work.

MultiCAN-641 has an option for an 'Alpine 13.3 inch' screen. I believe that has to be the 13" screen from the Range Rover. The G4 tool can make the change.
I am about to test if it will work. I have a used screen from a Range Rover that I am going to try. However, it appears that it may not be that simple. It may be necessary to reflash the screen to get it to work. |

Great. Let me know how the test goes.
Do you know if reflashing the screen is possible via the G4 tool? Thinking ahead to if I purchase a new Range Rover screen. |

Hello everyone, I am new here and I am going to do the screen upgrade with new genuine parts, just wondering if anyone had any joy with flashing the new screen with the gap 4g tool? If so was it difficult to get the correct config file?

Hello!
Is there any progress in activating and/or programming a factory new 13.1 Display with the G4? I have got an unbeatable offer for one. I do now have a 10.6 one. Any reply would be great. Thank you! After a night of drinking rum I found this on Aliexpress,
13.3" no system HD screen for Land Rover Defender 90/110/130 L663 plug and play replacement of the original 10"and 11.4" screen Usual thing of prices from 200 to 600 pounds, depending on the seller. Came with the fitting plate and a nifty little extension for the Facra connector. no need to code. Resolution slightly off but works nicely. Only niggle is screen will only show when ignition properly on |

I recently consulted Hunters Prestige to see if they could remotely fix the placeholder issue. The good news is that they know how to fix it via coding and are willing to apply the coding remotely. The caveats are: 1/ You’ll need to find a shop that has the official Land Rover diagnostic tools and i willing to allow Hunters to use Teamviewer to remotely control their local PC. 2/ Hunters quote me 500 pounds for their remote coding work. That does not include what your local shop would charge for their end of the coding session. I chose to pass given that presence of the placeholder image on my 2021 NA D90 with the 11.4” screen retrofit isn’t that big of a deal to warrant the quoted costs. However, it’s good to know that there is a fix. I hope that Gap’s IIDTool might enable this fix over time… 2021 D90 Pangea First Edition 2022 D110 X-Dynamic HSE Eiger Grey |

I purchased one of these screens but as you can see from the photos, none of the connectors or rear plates come with it - it is literally the LCD screen on it's own. I did however send it back and was refunded. I would advise that these screens are only for those who already have an 11.4" screen and need a replacement OR those that are very confident in building a connector and power cable along with mounting brackets. This is not made clear from the advertisements but they did honour my refund so no complaints here. |

To all those contemplating this upgrade from the 10” screen - go ahead, it’s well worth it. After initially trying one of the Chinese “screens” from eBay (it has no rear connectors whatsoever - don’t bother), I got a refund and went with a second hand 11.6“ F-Pace screen from a UK supplier, again on eBay. It was A LOT more expensive and I was a little sceptical but after reading some of the issues in this thread regarding brand new screens, second hand is the way to go.
I used the Powerful UK modified screen brackets (about £80) which saved me a huge amount of time and effort even though the second hand screen came with all of the new brackets. You simply unscreen the plastic back plate from the 11.6” screen and use the same bolts to screw on the two 3D printed modified side brackets from Powerful. The kit also comes with the connector adapter and you simply plug it in and use the IID tool (I have GAP 3 version) to modify the CCF. I left mine overnight. I was a little worried when I came to start the car this morning as the screen was still blank and so I went right back to this thread to work out why. Whilst I was searching and considering using SVS (as I was convinced I did not have the IDMA ECU software present) I reset the Pivi Pro by holding down the button. Success!! This was all it was and the screen is perfectly functional with no bands or issues. It looks fantastic and was well worth the upgrade. Thanks for the thread as this should encourage others to make the leap! Click image to enlarge [/img] |

Thank you for your post! I saw a couple of those screens popping up. Could you take a couple of photos or even better a short video showcasing the resolution concern you were flagging? I was wondering if those AliExpress android screen upgrades were simulating visually the entire interface to avoid changing the screen type CCF but also allowed you to see the original interface stretched vertically. |

Click image to enlarge I decided to take one for the team and purchased a “13.3 inch curved HD Touch screen” plug and play unit from AliExpress for $600 (approx £475) to replace my 10 inch screen. Installation was a snap, no issues at all although no instructions were included. It took about 40 minutes from start to finish. The unit has inputs for both the 10 inch and 11.4 screens. I used the input for the 10 inch screen. There is some minor horizontal stretching of the screen (see attached images). The vendor says that they remote in and can update the software to correct. While they did supply a cable with an OBD2 connector to Ethernet, they did not supply any software nor explain how they would remote in. I attempted to change the CCF files from 10 inch to the 13 inch screen but was unsuccessful as the screen went black (even after I reset Pivi and locked the vehicle and let it sit for a while). After I reverted back to the original CCF the screen came back on. My plans are to try to purchase the converter wiring loom from Simon @ powerful uk and see if using the 11.4 connection will (and updating the CCF files). If that doesn’t work I will work with the Vendor to see how they plan to remote in and what they plan to change. Click image to enlarge Click image to enlarge |
