Before i start, a very big thank you to donald ( donmacn ) as i did not know that this existed, for starting a thread of his own
Some of you know i started to install something in millie yesterday, but i had to stop as i was missing an important piece to carry on which i didn't know that i needed So after talking to Donald i found this on ebay and made the seller a fair price, with a reply, yes you can have it at that price.... Click image to enlarge So luckily it came before xmas and yesterday i started taking the dash apart and that is where i found some extra wires i had to take out the cd player as well and that is when i saw that i needed the important piece, so i had to put it back together thinking that i had to go into town to get it, but the cd player would not work, so i had to take apart again and found a wire bird nest i found that there was a live wire with no cover or sheathing on it and that it had blown the fuse Luck would have it that my youngest was going into town and i asked if she could get the piece for me as i could not finish the job i carried on with the wire bird nest and tidied it all up and got rid off allot of wires that were not used ( i suspect for previous radio/tape/cd players ) So this morning armed with all the bits i went out to finish the job, this is the important piece i needed........................ Click image to enlarge This is what my cabin looked like before fitting the ice link ..................................................... Click image to enlarge This is with the ice link fitted............................................... Click image to enlarge A side view for you.................................. Click image to enlarge This pic is with my ipod classic in and it works a treat......................................... Click image to enlarge I'm so chuffed that it all works and has kept the cabin tidy Please excuse the pic reflection as i was taking the pic's from in the back of millie as it was the best place For Donald............... mine is tuned into 88.8 1996 Golf Blue 300Tdi 110 Pick up. Glad you found one! It does the job very nicely indeed - and you've not only done a good job of fitting it all together, you've got the added bonus of having found and fixed a 'dangerous thing'. Result.
Happy tunes! Just an update, millie went to my indy for a couple of days instead of the one day she normally has for one of her 6000 mile services as i was not happy with the brakes, still i thought it was time to get them sorted out and to get my 1-2 month wheel wobble sorted to get rid off it, if the wheel started to wobble i would take it to the indy and they would do the shims and that would cure it 100%, but a month or two down the line it would start again it was always and only the O/S/F wheel when turning to the right, so before she went in, i went over and we had a good talk about the problems and we have a plan off action so as i have had her back for a few days now, everything is good at the front end and yet again i am having to bed the brakes in, so we will see what happens over the next few days/weeks 1996 Golf Blue 300Tdi 110 Pick up.
