Stealer just called - they say the clutch is in excellent condition, no rattling, no wear on the plate, nothing out of the ordinary.
They are still going to request a new clutch 'just in case' -- 2010 Defender Puma 90 + BAS remap + Alive IC + Slickshift + Ashcroft ATB rear 2015 Range Rover Sport V8 Supercharged Defender Puma Workshop Manual: https://bit.ly/2zZ1en9 Discovery 4 Workshop Manual: https://bit.ly/2zXrtKO Range Rover/Sport L320/L322/L494 Workshop Manual: https://bit.ly/2zc58JQ |

Because they are nearly bad since new. LR should have developed a solution by now (like a good dual mass flywheel) Puma 110" SW

They are saying they may as well try their luck to get a new clutch approved to see if this solves the rattle.
How? been looking into this also lately
was talking with - Valeo: no puma parts, they have the exact spec for transits but don't sell it for the puma as they are aware of the trouble with the oem clutches and assume their plates would fail also. Double flywheel exists for transit with MT32 (MK, they told me it should fit, although no idea if anything ese would need changing) - Sachs: no parts - BB/AP driveline, now Raicam: OEM supplier to LR. so thats the one to go for. No info on bad batches from them. Would be useful to have some data about this. AP kits from paddocks are not britpart but raicam. In any case it looks as the britpart clutches are also made by raicam although i don't have confirmation of that. yet. |

One of the chaps here (CRJ or so) got an email from raicam about the faulty batch (lately). So, if Valeo said that means there is a design problem. Very very bad! Mine is ok now but I donīt trust the cheesy plate. Puma 110" SW ............................................................. Earth first. Other planets later |

I went to see the clutch this morning. No wear on the clutch or clutch plate, but some of the springs have minor chips and dents. As soon as I picked up the plate and shook it, the springs were rattling bigtime.

Like I mentioned, mine replaced wednesday at no charge all under waranty.
Now there is no more rattles in low gears and A LOT of the previously thought "normal drive train rattles" also vanished Like I mentioned, 3 of my springs were apparently loose/out. So I gues if yours are loose it will only be a matter of time before they fail completly. On another note, On a local forum it was said that the Ford Ranger pickup's clutch will fit and is more tuff? Think it is the T5 Ranger clutch |
