Quick question - what is the part number of the Duo Lights?
I've had a look on their site and there's quite a list of them.

Any of the 70mm delights will work, I have the Duolight DL27. For reference they do come with a full wiring loom, brackets and plastic ring finishers.

Well that is irritating they are now on offer 20% off... Rolling Eyes

Leaking Allisport intercooler
Hmmm. I am not sure what to do about this... Allisport say it is nothing to be concerned about, but...

It doesn't look like a split weld, but weeping from the channel to end tank union. It has been like this for quite some time by the looks of things. Hmmmm...

Clean and JB Weld might be the way forward.

Surely with heat expansion and contraction and under pressure from the turbo eventually it's going to get worse?

I'm sure they weren't designed to be leaking Laughing

Well yes, they are definitely not meant to leak Rolling with laughter

I have popped the image on to a rad/intercooler repair company to see what they say. I wonder how much pressure drop is happening? can't be much, surely... Rolling Eyes

MANN HUMMEL Provent 200 Oil Catch Can
Given the oily mess I found coming out of the intercooler it led me to have a poke around. There shouldn't be hardly any oil making its way into the intercooler from the cam cover vent as I had an oil catch can installed inline. Weird eh?

Now the catch can I have fitted is a Provent copy and I have had cause to wonder in the past whether it is working efficiently enough as very little oil was being separated out. The solution at the time was to wrap the metal mesh filter in some cotton cloth. This worked well and the drain tube provided about 100ml of oil over the year. The most concerning issue with the cheap Provent I have always had is the flimsy plastic of the inlet and outlet ports that deformed with very little pressure and over time have become square under the jubilee clips. This has allowed oily mist to vent to atmosphere. Yuk...

So, given the above and the intercooler I found a real Provent 200 and it arrived first thing this morning.

What a difference in quality of product. Chalk and Cheese difference. I advise anyone thinking of fitting a catch can to buy original, not the cheap Chinese knock offs.

Some observations:

The lid of the P200 is such a positive fit and locks in place whereas the P200c (Chinese) is a loose fit.
The vent spring in the P200 is much stronger.
The P200 outlet vent is much softer, more pliant and the cap positively clips in place.
The P200 filter is a multi-layer textile rather than SS mesh.
The P200 outlet ports are made of a thick strong plastic that does not deform.
The mounting brackets are almost identical.

The new Provent 200 fitted into Miffy in the original position

Hopes and dreams John. Hopes and dreams Whistle

I have some M4 Black cap head bolts that fit perfectly into the centre of the base. A small hole in the bumper and bob's your uncle. Not sure if I am going to thread the bumper or go with a nut.

TD5 black bulkhead connector - BMW AMP - Main Harness
Hi folks. Need some knowledge.

I have to get a pin out of this black bulkhead connector. It is one of the main harness connectors.

It is a BMW AMP connector with weird locking slides inside the connector. How do I remove one of the pins???

I have a vague thought I might need a pin extractor for this one, but that is a complete guess Rolling with laughter

A few little jobs after dinner this evening. The brakes have been bled, front diff filled with oil, TRE's and pro-shafts greased.

Small simple stuff, but all essential Thumbs Up
