Ok I have decided not to fit the bull bar. I love the look but it is really too close to the AC grill. So, back to plan A I think.
If I do not need this bull bar it will be up for grabs if anyone is interested. It is perfectly straight and there is plenty of life left in it after a lick of paint. It would look great rubbed down and given a coat of Raptor. PM me if interested. |

Thanks Clayton. It is good to spend time on her. She has done a lot and gone a long way so it is about time she had some more significant effort spent on her.  |

Just a small vehicle related update. Managed to pick up a second hand tow ball mounted bike rack the other week. It is well used but has many many years worth of use left in it.
It needed a good rub down, rust converted, dash of paint (Raptor 1K) and some tube end caps. It now looks like it will last another decade or so

Yes I was chuffed with the find, had no idea that bike racks were so expensive
Anyway, it performed flawlessly with the E-bike on it. |

A nice dry evening this evening, so a chance to pop out and prep a few parts on the old girl for repair and painting.
The first thing to do is remove the broken anti vibration mounts I fitted to the RAI a few years ago now. At some point in a car park someone hung off the RAI and both mounts broke. So I sourced some beefier versions of the mounts. Re-positioned the bracket to where it needs to be and dismantled the RAI and intake manifold. Bit of rust converter and paint and these will do for another few years until I can get my hands on a welder. Hopefully tomorrow will be dry and warm enough for paint |

This evening the wind died down enough that I could finish off the painting I started yesterday. The first bits are the RAI bracket, air intake manifold and a-frame lower brackets.
Click image to enlarge These have all been stripped, degreased, rust converted and coated with Raptor 1k rattle can spray. The internal surface of the intake manifold was surprisingly rusty considering I coated it before fitting, weird, but it should survive longer this time around. I also suspect I have saved just enough of the a-frame brackets that it won't fall off 
Next on the list are the wing tops, RAI top and RAI body itself. I realised this is the third time I have stripped and painted the wing tops in their life, had so much use out of these over the years. The RAI top is just because the plastic was sun faded so a quick spray to keep it pretty. I know vanity, my name is Geo... Click image to enlarge Click image to enlarge Click image to enlarge Finally the RAI body was in great shape, the plastic coating was a little sun faded (this is a PandP cages RAI) after five years or so, maybe longer. The only rust was on the mounting brackets where the coating had chipped off, so a bit more rust converter and a coat of Raptor 2k rattle can to match the bumper. It is a little less glossy than the plastic coating which suits me. Click image to enlarge Not bad, just fingers crossed it doesn't rain in the next hour or so... Just preparing to replace the second row crossmember and I know there are going to be some stubborn floor screws hiding away in that footwell
So in the post today came these bad boys... These are hex head No.14 3/4" screws. No more crappy Phillips cross heads
