Also available direct from GAP Diagnostics (the people who make them) sent from Canada (beware the customs duty). Just click on Sponsers at the top right of the page and you will get an advert. There are also quite a few dealers in the UK but I'm not sure if Forum rules allow me to mention them but I'll give you the one who is associated with GAP and that is Bell Auto Services.

IID Tools have been around for more than just a few years and for the post 2017 cars you need version III. Not sure when this came out but mine was too old and I needed a new one. Because of that I'd be reluctant to buy one off eBay just in case. Also they are locked to an individual VIN although you can pay to have it transferred but a second hand one may have been blacklisted so you really don't want to go there. Just my opinion of course. Defender D300 HSE 110 MY22 Pangea Green

Has anyone bought an activity key and managed to make it work with this tool?

That was my plan. Unfortunately the ECU dump from the tool confirmed I had a locked down KVM. You can’t program a new KVM from this tool as you won’t have any keys already coded. You need Pathfinder to do it from scratch. Defender D300 HSE 110 MY22 Pangea Green

Hi Bert, welcome to the forum Thumbs Up With regard to the paddles I have yet to get mine working yet, I suspect there is another parameter that the guys at GAP are still working on.

I have the same settings as your for the following but no luck yet

- 171 / MDF 1947 / HEATED STEERING WHEEL / 02 With Heated Steering Wheel
- 536 / MDF 4D57 / GearboxPaddlesinDrive / 01 Active in drive
- 537 / MDF 4D67 / SWSGearSelectors / 02 Fitted

Mine had the heated steering wheel from the factory so I only changed the wheel, paddles and wiring harness, with mine already having the heated wheel I was told that mine would have the correct right hand switch fitted. Another thing I was told was that if I didn't have the heated wheel I would also need the clockspring that sits at the top of the column. I'm just on my way out now but I will have a search of the parts catalogue and see if I can find it for you when I get back

- 189 / MDF 1867 / AUDIO BUTTONS STEERING WHEEL / 02 Audio Buttons In Steering Wheel

other possible options are:
00 Not Supported
01 No Audio Buttons In Steering Wheel
03 Audio Buttons and MFD Remote Controller in Steering Wheel

For this one I take it you mean EUCD-187 Audio Buttons, Steering Wheel
Mine is set to
Audio Buttons In Steering Wheel

There's also this one line with as its abbreviation seemingly related yet its options seems not:
- 672 / MDF 6085 / SlcHeatedSteerWhl / 01 Not Fitted

Selectable options:
00 Not Supported
01 Not Fitted
02 Available to the driver only
03 Available to the driver and front passenger only
04 Available to the driver front passenger and all passengers in row 2 only
05 Available to the driver front passenger all passengers in row 2 and all passengers in row 3
07 Error

Mine is set to
MultiCAN-672 SlcHeatedSteerWhl
Available to the driver only

You mention that yours is a P400 is it a P400e PHEV? The only reason I ask is that apparently the flappy paddles wont work on this variant.

Thanks Dan for clarifying your settings. Mine is the P400 MHEV.

Now this get interesting with the clockspring. I don't seem to find this as a stand alone part, instead it seem to come as whole column on Scuderiaparts website. I did find it on a Chinese site as part of the 007 steering wheel kit. Tried asking but seller will not sell me just the clockspring. Gonna dig deeper for its part number. 2020 MY, 110, P400 SE

Hi, yes it would appear that every other model of Land Rover/Range Rover has a separate clock spring but the Defender appears to be only available complete with the two stalks which seems a bit mad to me Confused If you have a look at the webpage of Hunters Prestige (which is the new name for House of Vulcan) and check their photos out they show one photo with the complete clock spring and stalks but they also show another photo with what appears to be the clockspring separate Confused

I spoke to a Chinese remote programmer who will be helping me find out the part number. The photo he shared does seem to be able to buy in part, Indo suspect it may not be genuine JLR then. Once I have it done and coded, I shall share the coding parameters needed to make it work.

Yes. I purchased the correct activity key and was able to activate using the GAP tool. The key is that the vehicle must be in service mode when you activate.

Did you already have two keys supplied with your vehicle and also activate the activity key?

Most UK spec Defenders will have a locked KVM. The PowerfulUK 90 didn't and they were able to add an activity key. Mine is locked down unfortunately. If you do an ECU dump from the IID tool it will list the KVM near the end. Mine reports as 'Locked for Life'. GAP have confirmed that I cannot add an activity key without a new KVM. Unfortunately to use the IID tool to program keys you need to have at least one key programed into the KVM. A new one will not have this and Pathfinder is the only way to program a new KVM. It seems I am stuck with getting a dealer to provide and fit all the required bits and pieces. I know there Websites advertising L663 Activations which include Activity Key but they are all at least a 1000 mile round trip away so unless anyone knows of a place in Central Scotland providing this service it's going to be an expensive Activity Key! Defender D300 HSE 110 MY22 Pangea Green

I am in the US. I had two delivered standard keys. The GAP tool simply added the activity key as a third key.

Saw today that my iPhone updated to a new IIDTool app (I'm the beta program), version 4.1.4 Build 122.

Any exciting new features or functions ?

I was trying to fiddle around some more with the ACC settings today. Since this last update to the IID Tool, I no longer have “MultiCAN-712 ACC Lead Car Distance Display” and “MultiCan-809 ACC Stop Gap Setting”. Have they disappeared from anyone else?

You didn’t happen to save an ECU Info List before you added the key? The entry I’m interested in is about 6th from the end: RFA-REMOTE FUNCTION ACTUATOR. My KVM State reported as ‘Locked Forever’ which GAP said that was it and I couldn’t add an activity key even though I only have 2 keys programmed. Defender D300 HSE 110 MY22 Pangea Green
