The quick repairs do help once in a while and i think that your 306 must have been a defender in it's previous life 1996 Golf Blue 300Tdi 110 Pick up. Keeper. Clayton. |

Last Saturday Millie went in for one of her 6,000 mile services and all was ok he put the QT diff guard back on but it was out of shape a bit, so he got it where it should be and put it on and has made it that the bolt's cant be undone by hand alone again he had a good look at the bolt holes and there was no sign of wear as if the bolts had started to come loose so there is only one other way it came off
Click image to enlarge As my birthday was in March i decided to treat my self and upgraded my speakers to these Click image to enlarge they replaced these old Kenwood speakers which i have had for while Click image to enlarge Once in a while you hope that things will go right and i thought that it would be a straight swop, no more than an hour tops, all went well with the change over and then to test them, well the 2 O/S ones were working and the 2 N/S ones were not working bang goes my theory, changed one over as the speaker might be dud one, but no it worked all ok. So what turned in to a quick ish change over turned into a long day, in fact it was over 2 days but in the end after taking everything apart to make sure all the wires were connected, i found after a process of elimination i found that one side of the speaker wires had been cut, not sure how but i have replaced the damaged bit and at the same time re-routed it as well so it does not happen again Click image to enlarge Click image to enlarge I was one happy chappie when they were all working and WOW what a difference, so in time i will replace the dash ones as well. A BIG thank you to MUD for the quick deliveries form the time of order I wish i had done this earlier as i love listening to music so it's just so much better now 1996 Golf Blue 300Tdi 110 Pick up. I don't think it is LH, it's a genuine LR one which i got from my local LR dealership some 10 years ago 1996 Golf Blue 300Tdi 110 Pick up.

So it seems i'm getting like Co1
As much as i liked the Blindo's i just thought they still looked to fancy for Millie as i kept seeing pic's of her with the modular's on, so i have been running her with the modular's back on to see if i was right Click image to enlarge I do think that Millie suits them being a utility landy, so i went ahead and got some new ones and on Saturday morning i went to my local ATS to get them changed over before Click image to enlarge Click image to enlarge after Click image to enlarge Click image to enlarge The old modular's will be getting refurbed, shot blasted and then powder coated. I'm well happy with the end result 1996 Golf Blue 300Tdi 110 Pick up. Keeper. Clayton. |

That looks great. I do like a set of modulars and agree about the utility look. If you're getting the olds ones refurbed, can I suggest silver as I think that'd look really good on your truck? Darren

Clayton, I've taken inspiration from your set up, needed a bit refinement which was done with a needle and thread when I got home. I've attached a loop to allow the back of the awning to be tied off on the roof rack. Click image to enlarge You and Millie are an inspiration and just shows how long something can last if it's looked after.
