Be very careful who you order from. There are sellers on ebay who only have the white one (mine's grey). They SAY you can have a grey one...but they aren't in stock. Also, be very wary of Chinese companies like Geekbuying' and Gearbest (I think they are actually the same company!). They don't have UK stock - they are stocked in Poland. When it doesn't turn up on the date promised, they say it's stuck at customs in Poland.
I ordered mine through markshop.co.uk Not only did they have grey in stock, AND emailed me back on a Sunday, AND it arrived as promised by next working day. Their price is £699. You can get it for as low as £645 on ebay (only have one, and it's white). I'm pretty sure that even markshop is Chinese, but I can't fault their customer service. Going biking Saturday! Now left. |

Click image to enlarge F-150 Lightning ~ hardly too expensive and might be the real game changer for the competition. |

ResGuy68, what do you think of Grenadier's prospects in the US, if the Ford Lightning is going to be $20,000 cheaper than Ineos' diesel and petrol versions? It won't be sold here, but it's surely going to take some of Ineos' sales in the US, no? Will it tempt you to go electric? Now left.

The F-150 Lightning is going to be pretty useless for many as a working vehicle - can’t see anything to suggest that the usual EV problem of laden/towing range has been addressed.

Well, I'm always amazed at how popular they are. I've had a pick-up, and wouldn't consider the small-bed versions with the double cab. I never had cause to want a double cab, and preferred a long bed. You can only get two packets of crisps in some of those small beds. But they are incredibly popular, and it will sell like hot cakes - just read the American car sites today, they love it. Now left.

"As it usually does, Ford seems to developed an electric truck specifically targeted to meet the needs and wants of people that actually buy trucks by the many hundreds of thousands every year. Ford doesn’t move nearly 900,000 F-series annually by throwing goofy ideas against the wall." https://www.forbes.com/sites/samabuelsamid...er-backup/ |

20,000 reservations in the first 12 hours suggest that others don't think this. |

Power is 563bhp and torque is up to 775 lbs-ft, the highest torque of any F-150. Payload is 2000 lbs whilst towing capacity is 10,000 lbs. The on board generator is up from 7.2 to 9.6 kW. If those figures don't suggest a working vehicle then I don't know what does. Defender 90XS SW Mini Countryman Cooper S Morgan Plus 8 |

I do like the American obsession with power. I know you can't use it or access it all the time or on public roads, blah, blah, blah, but it's just good to know it's there. Monsieur Le Grenadier

F-150 Lightning doesn't have enough for some though: "563 horsepower hardly gets the heart racing in this power-drunk moment." Lightning Struck Ford's F-150 Twice. This Time, I Think It Missed "An electric F-150 is cool. An electric sport truck would have been cooler, especially since Ford has already proved it knows how to build one." "Lightning" once stood for a pickup truck with serious power and sports-car-inspired handling. It relied on that classic muscle-car formula—a big engine in a small car (or truck in this case)—and used a lowered and stiffened suspension to domesticate the F-150's agrarian chassis. In 1993, the original SVT F-150 Lightning posted an impressive 0.88 g of lateral grip in Car and Driver skidpad testing. A second generation followed in 1999 with a supercharged V-8 that yanked the Lightning to 147 mph. About that truck, Steven Cole Smith wrote, "There is just no way to make a half-ton solid-rear-axle pickup weighing 4696 pounds handle like a sports car. But Ford has come surprisingly close." https://www.caranddriver.com/news/a3648123...k-opinion/ |

0-60 in sub 5 seconds, for a truck that size and it's not quick enough? What's wrong with people? https://instagram.com/bentheoandrews

Well its been an interesting week for traditional dealerships. First Stellantis gives two years notice to all dealerships, possibly looking to a future with multiple brands site; then VW confidential documents come out that show they are interested in selling direct to customers with an agency model for dealers at point of collection; and now Merc is also interested in the agency model with plans to sell its own dealer network. Those complaining about Ineos not having sales/maintenance infrastructure in place should take note. |
