Hi Simon, ours is an Ostrich wing. More more shade than a dry cover, great heavy duty wing.
Cheers Jim. |

Times been moving on & had a few things done, front end HD bumper with swivels & headlight guards. Ended up having to mount the HL Jack on the front ( not ideal but run out of space everywhere else). Also custom kitchen boxes.

After changing the suspension so she sits slightly higher I’ve gone for Gwyn’s mega props with the heavier 20/20 joints. DC on the front which will help with the slightly increased angle. Impressed with these, extremely easy to grease.

Morning James,
Weakest link in the whole set up was the rear prop ( everything on the drivetrain will be Ashcroft HD) A good friend has had an issue with a slightly lifted Puma so thought it would be prudent to change the front prop as I wouldn’t want an issue whilst travelling down the west coast of Africa |

Looking good, I need to find a place for a Hi-Lift yet!
Is it actually lifted or did the new springs just put it back to normal height? I’d be interested in your bump stop clearance all round if you ever fancy measuring it! I’ve got genuine HD springs all round with rear inner helpers and an Alu-Cab roof and wasn’t planning on changing the front prop but maybe I should! 1997 Ex-MOD 110, Pop Top Camper, build thread https://www.defender2.net/forum/topic72352.html 2014 Discovery 4 SE Tech Instagram @the110camper |

Sorry for the late response, because we are quite heavy Gwyn recommend
OME 2751 front OME 2754 Rear +25mm bump stops, have gone for OME std size dampers & carrying one front plus one rear as spares. I would say we are 1-1.5 inch lift that’s why I’ve changed the front prop ( rear needed changing to something stronger anyway) I will get back to you on measurements ( drives on an incline so need to get her level) Cheers Jim. |

Forgot to mention running 255/85/16 MTR’s so it gives a bit more clearance on the arches too.

No worries, many thanks for the reply Jim.
Very helpful info, with my HD springs on the front and standard height Koni shocks it’s running at about standard height I think due to having a Warn 8274 winch and bumper and also the Wolf spare on the bonnet. I’m also running 255/85/16 (KM3’s) The rear isn’t fully kitted out yet so don’t know where that will end up! I’ll see how it performs but might swap to the OME springs if needed. Wondering as well, is your front axle central now with the lift? Mine seems to be 10-15mm further out on the drivers side! Current stance... db950, bump stop front 95mm ( standard bump stops) rear 115mm ( Gwyn’s +25mm) did have +25mm all round but the front bottomed out off road.

Thanks for the measurements, mine are very similar(without the +25mm bump stops) Not far off standard 110 clearances actually, most quote about 80-90 mm fronts and 125-140mm rear unladen, so think I’ll try it with the standard front prop for a start and see how it goes. 1997 Ex-MOD 110, Pop Top Camper, build thread https://www.defender2.net/forum/topic72352.html 2014 Discovery 4 SE Tech Instagram @the110camper |
