You’ll love the top top !!
We have spent so many nights camping in the 110 since we converted ours - it adds a new dimension to the vehicle and its use ! Looking forward to seeing the progress of the conversion ! It's the start of long road & another money pit but I'm guessing you already know that Gary |

Are you sitting down? Pop top €8200 & bed platform €1225 total £8217.00 sterling. Plus we are having a complete roof paint brackets for the quick pitch / led lighting / brackets for the Ostrich wing / rear door table etc. So total cost to us at the moment is £11,153. Yes it's a lot but it's going to be home throughout our travels & taking into account the cost of hotels for a few years traveling it's not that bad. |

By the way you'll have to forgive the order of photos / grammar / general layout etc ( just an old bricklayer not computer literate!) After reading Gary's build ( Wyvern) thought it might be helpful to others thinking of doing the same.

The pictures are great - very dramatic! Do you know why he's taking an angle grinder to your roof? Darren

Nice, there's a beautiful 110 parked there from Wales had everything done to it (the owner had left it there for a while whilst working overseas) Took a couple of pictures of some of the mods he's had done very very crisp ( not going to post them as it's not my place to) |

Basically the rear profile changes, because it's lifted by 170mm ( two rings hinged at the front to form the pop top) the cut out over the rear door isn't needed the gutter runs around level. |

Ah, I see. I was vaguely aware that the back panel of the roof needed to change but assumed it was just the panel itself rather than the whole back end.
I've seen a couple of the Ex-Tec conversions and they are very cool. Darren 110 USW BUILD THREAD - EXPEDITION TRAILER - 200tdi 90 BUILD THREAD - SANKEY TRAILER - IG@landroveranorak "You came in that thing? You're braver than I thought!" - Princess Leia |

Our X-Vision-X was less expensive, but still not cheap - however they all do a similar job, it comes down to personal choice. The way we tend to look at the costing is £50 per person saved for each night spent sleeping in the wagon, so the 18 day trip to Slovenia alone paid back £1800... but we have regular nights out in the wagon all year which add to the savings Meals cooked in the wagon calculate to save £20 per meal for 2 - so again 18 nights cooking gave us back £360 against the total conversion cost. So one trip paid back over £2000 on the cost of the set up. Over the 2 yrs of having the top fitted I think we have made a good dent in the cost of the pop top and units, which is a nice place to be.
