It's part of the dynamic stability control system fitted to the last year of production vehicles.
Sorry, can't help with the query. It may be worth asking the makers of the IID Tool as that's a very comprehensive diagnostic tool. Mine broke on my D3 many years ago and couldn’t drive as it kept putting the breaks on , had to reset it and glue it with apoxie glue , excuse my spelling , the IID tool can calibrate it I think .
