United Kingdom 2011 Defender 110 Puma 2.4 USW Keswick Green
I quite like that. I imagine my employer might get some if there is a 3 door lwb. Is there a proposed swb version? I see a lot of G wagen in it, plus Defender and some vague Soviet era aspects which is surprising. Not convinced on that huge front bumper but probably a legal requirement.

Not bad at all really. Seems a bit wider than a Defender too. 2011 110 USW

I suspect my employer will be looking too, currently using Disco 5s and Shoguns. Being public senctor there is some (not massive) pressure to buy British where possible. 2007 110 TDCi Station Wagon XS

As much as I hope it is, I just can't see how it can come in under £40k. Almost certainly not including the VAT in station wagon form. Maybe a SWB or chassis cab could.

Just out of interest, anyone know what is the cheapest vehicle of any type you can get with a turbo straight 6 and 8 speed auto? 2007 110 TDCi Station Wagon XS

Looks better already Thumbs Up
Now just the rear lights to sort, but they are probably fixed in the design for now.
Would like to see it in Aintree green or similar.

Edit: if you're doing requests Laughing try making the wing mirrors bigger eg bring the bottom edge down to level with the bottom of the arm.

This looks great, exactly what I would want to see in a modernised Defender. Functional, some good details, improving on the old design, modular. If this is priced at all competitively I can't see it making any sense to buy a LR Defender. The Ineos people seem to get it and speak with words I can appreciate. Just by listening to the interview and it's patently obvious this is the true spiritual successor to the Defender. None of that verticality BS we had to suffer through.

Bow down Bow down Bow down

I am so, so glad they got this right.

It's only been an hour since the video was released, 6 pages in and almost universally positive. What a car. Looks (as so many have said) exactly what the new Defender should have been. McG talking out of his a*** that keeping the essence of the Defender wasn't possible because of constraints palced by EU regs, build costs, platform etc. I hope this sells like hot cakes and makes McG walk away with his (devil's) tail between his legs. But his ego is so big, he won't even understand what this vehicle represents. If I have the cash, I'll buy one.

Side view is best, but we will all have our front-ends imprinted on our mind, so it will take time to get used to this new look as they're so close. But as MRD showed, it won't be long before after-market companies produce a new grille. Love the rear as well, and the split door.

And it's named after me. Maybe. Whistle

Now just need to see the inside. Thumbs Up Monsieur Le Grenadier

I've not been everywhere, but it's on my list.....

I've been pondering this, with VAT and safety aspects required for a Station Wagon I am guessing its gonna be >£55k in the UK 110 MY23.5 X Dynamic HSE
RR MY23 HSE PHEV
D5 MY19 HSE - Now Sold
D4 MY16 HSE Luxury - Now Sold
D4 MY12 HSE - Gone

given Ineos seem to be flush at the moment maybe they should buy Land Rover out of the JLR tangle they are in.

That would be wonderfully ironic!

Please no ~ let the chaps and chapesses concentrate on delivering this. Get the DCPU up and running:

From the FT:

"The company will launch a long-wheelbase model of the vehicle late next year, with a shorter version and a pick-up model to follow. It expects to produce 30,000 cars a year. The price will start at £30,000 and rise to £45,000, according to two people who have seen the plans."

I'm crossing fingers on these numbers.

Not over keen on the bonnet or grille, but everything else is good. Funds permitting, that'll be my next Defender Smile

Not a cravat nor designer suit to be seen at the reveal either! Let the vehicle speak for itself.

I like the look of the XLWB double cab too.

Yes I like my 'verticality' with a good helping of 'sheer' in it, and this has plenty! Laughing

I think it looks good – apart from the bonnet - which doesn’t suit, and would put me off. I think how well it sells just depends on price and reliability. I just don’t know whether mass buyers have moved on in terms of what they are after (eg electronics and lifestyle – I am not talking about the majority who post on here). I think without COVID, the new Defender would be ok.

Obviously, it doesn’t have any heritage – Toyota landcruiser, Mercedes G wagon and Nissan patrol have/had reliability and the Defender (original one) has …umm… ‘character’ earnt over many decades. Personally, I like heritage - even if flawed.
