MT/R's are great tyres but they are noisy above 40-ish mph. I had them on my 110 and I couldn't believe the difference when I changed to some decent AT's. It’s essentially removing an plastic impeller on the entry to the air box. Seems to free up airflow a little. It’s a minor step though and you’ll see in the thread that some take it much further by increasing the diameter of the pipe work and it sounds like it makes a big difference. |

Nice one will try that this weekend. Noticed you managed to get the offending object out in one piece. Any tips on offer? Also what tools would you suggest? A number of people used a dremel but I don't have one.

I didn’t have to cut mine but it was hard work. I took the top off the air box, removed the filter. Undid the hose to the turbo and moved it out the way. If you follow the pipe that feeds the air box, towards the intake in the wing, there is a fixing that holds it in place, undo that so that it makes that pipe a bit looser. You should then be able to pull the pipe work out of the air box fairly easily, but it won’t come out very far. I then had to man handle it and push it down so it went below the air box allowing me to slide the impeller out. That last bit was pretty hard but doable. It’s also pretty hard work to get the pipe back in again. I didn’t cut the inside of the air box on mine.

I reassembled the tow bar after spraying it a couple of weeks ago. There was some electrical tape on the cable which I assumed was covering up some connector blocks from where it had been rewired in the past. Oh no... no connector blocks used at all. Just wound together

After stealing the idea from Stacey007 here - https://www.defender2.net/forum/topic71946...erse+light I too fitted an extra reversing light. Will help especially whilst I still have incandescent rear lights (these will be upgraded to LEDs at a later date). Not bad for £7 we will see how long it lasts.

Bought a raised air intake from a user on here (thanks ‘London 52’). It was difficult to fit the supports to the window frame. There isn’t much room behind there but with the help from the wife we got there in the end. Love the utilitarian look that the Bearmach one gives.
