Noticed a big difference with the airbox alteration. Much more free flowing. May be all in my head but even if it is, who cares, it feels great to drive.
[EDIT] I should add this was experienced on my drive to and from work as a key worker... before I get lynched! |

Ha no afraid not, it's pretty run down unfortunately. Used to be a hospital years ago and then got bought by a pretty useless businessman to make a wedding venue and apartments but everything has been done on the cheap. The business went into administration recently, the same way many of his businesses have gone over the years I believe

The drivers side window winder has been sticking at the half way point. I need to take the door apart as I have a central locking kit coming soon and I also wanted to install some sound deadening in the doors too.
Click image to enlarge Once the door card was off I couldn't see anywhere in particular it was sticking so I sprayed a fair bit of WD40 around and loosened off some of the fixings to see if it made a difference All was solved when I adjusted the fixing on the right and it now moves smoothly Click image to enlarge The door also kept shutting on me so I tightened up the fixings just inside the door. Now stays open. Click image to enlarge I thought that was going to be a lot trickier but it was nice easy fix. Lastly I installed some Silent Coat on both doors and on the inside of the door cards. The door cards will stay off until the central locking kit arrives. Click image to enlarge |

Those fixes that take a minute or two are great

Yeah it's a really rewarding vehicle to work. I'm sure I've had a fair bit of luck on my side but when I go to do jobs on it they tend to work out as expected (I've said it now!). I used to own a Porsche 944 and that was the complete opposite, nothing went well and every part was expensive. I know that is to be expected being a Porsche but the Defender is far more rewarding to work on. This forum is extremely helpful too so thanks everyone

New (to me anyway) tyres arrived today courtesy of Co1. Thanks. I have some Wolf replicas on the way which they will be going on.
Click image to enlarge I then started work on fitting a central locking kit with the help of this guide from here... https://www.defender2.net/forum/post809336.html#809336 Fitting the actuators to the door was really simple but I really struggled to work out how to route the cables back to near the fuse box. I eventually made a new hole and worked them through. I have still yet to include the rear door but I will do in the future, once I've worked out how to route the cables to the back. Once that's done I'll solder it into the AS10 but until then it works with the supplied fobs. Click image to enlarge Click image to enlarge Click image to enlarge Click image to enlarge |

Some goodies arrived today! First up was some steel wheel nuts from Wrington. Very nicely packaged and they'll go on once the Wolf replicas have arrived.
Click image to enlarge Click image to enlarge Then after watching Harry's Garage on Youtube I bought a CTEK indicator which helps let me know when the battery needs charging. I didn't realise they do a panel type which would be quite good too, but this will do. It has some lights on the socket which indicate if the battery needs charging. The Terrafirma wheels arrived today. They’ve been left with the local tyre fitters and if they get chance they’ll put the tyres on for me. Looking forward to seeing how it looks once fitted

Looks great, that grille and light surround set up suits Galway Green really well! Those wolf style rims and tyres will give it a much more purposeful look
