looks a bit like a Motorsport "rain" light
were the other two feeds not to simply illuminate as per a tail light?? |

Yeah, I guess it does
The other two wires were supposed to make parts of the LED array flash when indicating. It's a US thing whereby they use their brake lights as indicators by making them flash. In my case, nothing happened when 12v was applied but as I didn't want the feature anyway I didn't spend long investigating. Looks good. There is a chap around here who put a similar light in the middle of his spare wheel.

i have a similar receiver hitch on my 200tdi, and wondered about those light myself.
did you wire it for brake and sidelights ? and i bet the aluminium billet is a lot more usable because of its lightness. Can I ask where you got it from ? |

No, the light is only wired as a brake light.
The shackle bracket came from Belgium via eBay but be warned that the picture doesn't match what arrived in the post: https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/UNIVERSAL-RECEI...2749.l2649 Darren 110 USW BUILD THREAD - EXPEDITION TRAILER - 200tdi 90 BUILD THREAD - SANKEY TRAILER - IG@landroveranorak "You came in that thing? It's not designed for it. It doesn't have any way to create a low and high brightness like a regular stop/tail lamp. Darren

Todays' little job was to install an X-grip phone holder, found on eBay by deaallen of this parish. The whole thing is remarkably similar to the offering from Ram Mounts, but at a fraction of the cost.
As delivered, the holder comes with a short arm and a ball with a flat mounting tab attached. In order to fit the Puma dashboard, the latter is ditched in favour of a ball with a thru' mount: Click image to enlarge The ball mount comes with an M6 cap head bolt but this must also be replaced to suit the mounting point on the dash. I managed to find a suitably long pan head screw with a similar coarse thread to the original that was removed: Click image to enlarge With the existing dash screw removed, fitting the new ball mount is a simple case of screwing it into position: Click image to enlarge And then the holder is positioned and the clamp on the arm tightened to hold it in place: Click image to enlarge I expect I'll have to fine tune the position a bit once I've been for a drive, but it does make a very neat installation: Click image to enlarge Darren 110 USW BUILD THREAD - EXPEDITION TRAILER - 200tdi 90 BUILD THREAD - SANKEY TRAILER - IG@landroveranorak "You came in that thing?
