By chance, I was looking at them last night and they do look good. When the weather warms up though, I'll give it the full treatment - Silentcoat and closed cell foam to the roof, sides and rear tub, which was very effective on my 90, with carpet or vinyl as a finish. Darren

Ha, ha, between the snow and life in general it's been a busy weekend! Apart from driving home, the first outing was a hundred-odd mile round trip to deliver my daughter to a Scout Jamboree weekend camp. Beyond that, it's been too cold to be outside playing Land Rovers.
As for comparison with the 90, that's a bit of a mixed bag. The engine is quieter and the heater is a revelation. The van back end does make it noisier generally than the sound-insulated 90, but that's a relatively easy fix in due course. Beyond that, it's all normal Defender stuff. Apart from the steering wheel, which I don't like and will be changing soon! Managed to squeeze in a bit of modding time this evening. First job was to fit a rear folding step. the inserts were already in place in the underside of the cross member so it was just a case of bolting it on. I did swap the bolts in the kit for some stainless ones, though.
Click image to enlarge The next task was more of an un-mod, if there is such a thing, as I removed the seat risers that had been fitted to the front seats: Click image to enlarge And the seat back where it should be: Click image to enlarge Haven't driven it yet but stationary it feels better already: the seat base doesn't cut into my thigh when I press the clutch and I don't have to duck down to see out of the side window. I'll see how it goes tomorrow but expect to see a set of risers for sale soon Darren 110 USW BUILD THREAD - EXPEDITION TRAILER - 200tdi 90 BUILD THREAD - SANKEY TRAILER - IG@landroveranorak "You came in that thing? The Seat Belt should pass through the Strap for correct positioning. NormanD WE191

Yeah, that's right. It was only when I was looking at the photo that I realised it wasn't in place, unlike the drivers side. Darren

I've been ill for the last few days and not able to get outside and do much, so I brought a little task indoors. I spent a happy hour making neoprene gaskets for the rears of four NAS light plinths, ready for fitting to the rear later this week:
Click image to enlarge The gaskets are formed from strips of 25mm wide self-adhesive tape and then carefully cut to the shape of the plinths using scissors and a scalpel. Very therapeutic. I am feeling much better today though, so when my new steering wheel arrived and the sun was shining, it would have been rude not to fit it: Click image to enlarge I appreciate that fitting a standard steering wheel is one of the most boring mods imaginable but I'm really pleased with the result. It replaced a very nice black, leather-clad, Moto Lita Mk4 that the previous owner had probably spent a fortune on but it just didn't do it for me. With a standard wheel the steering is lighter, I can see all of the instruments and it just feel 'right' Darren 110 USW BUILD THREAD - EXPEDITION TRAILER - 200tdi 90 BUILD THREAD - SANKEY TRAILER - IG@landroveranorak "You came in that thing?
