First camping trip of the season. Just a hose pipe in a field.

But a fire pit, melted chocolate and strawberries to dip keeps everyone happy.

Removed front prop and checked UJs and while off I greased the nipples - Part of the hunt to try and solve the wheel wobble issue (55-60mph) - some roads worse than others
Rear wheels balanced up OK as are the fronts and the tyres are OK. No play in ball joints according to the garage who had a look.

Started making the mounting plate for the Eberspacher from some stainless I had hanging around.
Modified the rear corner protectors I got and now these are in for blasting and powder coating.
Took the rear chequer plates covers off also for blasting and coating. 1999 Defender TD5 110

Hi John, have you checked the front panhard rod bushes, and or checked the bolts for tightness?

Hi Greeni.

Replaced the bushes with gen LR ones along with new bolts/nut and same for the radius arms (all bushes and buts/bolts) - maybe a retorquing/checking would be an idea. 1999 Defender TD5 110

My v8 became vague this past couple of weeks, was the panhard rod bolt slightly loose.

Have a look at the steering box drop arm area that there is no play and the steering column UJ too.
Also although may not seem associated damper bushes too, they can cause all sort of feedback issues whilst driving. $W33T $0U7H3RN $UG4R

Whats the best way of checking UJs? just wiggle steering wheel left/right

I did think about the shocks - will also have a look at them & bushes 1999 Defender TD5 110

Drove to the Cheshire Landrover experience for a drive around their grounds. Unfortunately the defender we booked to use had broken so we ended up using a disco 5 which is very capable but Iโ€™ll stick to the defender Wink Wink Ray
