Td5 oil filter removal tips, nightmare
Any hints on getting the oil filter loose on the td5 mine is welded in place just won't shift. I've tried some adjustable oil filter pliers but still impossible to grip and turn it. Tried a chain and strap wrench but not enough room to work and seemingly impossible. Next option is the socket style like below but open to suggestions

Hi
tied rope round mine and used screwdriver to tighten rope then undo filter. Word of caution, don't turn it the wrong way and tighten it Shocked
If all else fails a long screwdriver through the middle and unscrew that way.
Good luck.

Drill a hole and put a screw driver thru it. My last one took me 3 hours to remove.

Sounds excessive but its not too hard to remove the turbo for better grip and access Instagram @defender_ventures

I use these for them, and other tight filters. I would only really use them if junking the filter.

I use the three legged one, on td5 I tend to take the turbo oil drain off to improve access and avoid damaging it. Cheers

I use the Strap to tighten it, and a flat long screwdriver and a hammer to remove it, I hammer it on the top lip, normally it breaks, but it is going out anyway Augusto

This is what i use for mine. Works a treat. I use it day in day out on JCB transmission filters which are always very tight. Facom FCMU48PB Oil Filter Wrench https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B0051HEWB0/ref...3BbTJEZ6NT
