It’s a 2010 2.4 90, if that makes any difference. Thanks Jim.

Door hinges and stays with white lithium. 3in1 aerosol with applicator I find is best for this. Also bonnet hinges and bonnet opening assembly. (Need to do the latter on mine.) door catches. ACF50 has its place also in plenty of places such as the bonnet hinge to bulkhead weld.
Regarding your props, are you sure there is not a hole for the nipple on the slider area? ACF50 under all cappings is a good idea too No Guts, No Glory. 🇬🇧🏴🏴🏴🇮🇪🇺🇸⛽️🛢️⚙️🧰💪 |

Thanks will add them to tomorrow’s to do list then ☺️
Pretty sure, I brushed my hand all over the prop and couldn’t feel anything, the uj’s were obvious, so would have thought the props to be the same? Will have another look tomorrow just incase I’ve missed something. Just been reading about the swivels, so will also check them. Do anything like the track rod end have grease points etc? Can you tell I just want to use my new toy 😂 Thanks Jim. |

Take the wheels off and grease the areas that contact the drive flanges - a non melting grease like copper grease is best.
Track rod ends can't be greased as standard, unless someone has fitted ends with nipples. |

They could be missing, but possibly unlikely that both nipples are at the same time. Later models I think didn't have them on the slider and were sealed for life and I thought this was on 2.2's. But don't quote me on this, sketchy memory regarding that. Worth checking again for a hole but if you don't find any still fir a threaded nipple then there weren't any fitted. UJ nipples seem to disappear more often or at least on mine they did. No Guts, No Glory. 🇬🇧🏴🏴🏴🇮🇪🇺🇸⛽️🛢️⚙️🧰💪 |

my 2010 2.4, doesn't have any nipples or holes for the on the sliders. But it could of course have had both prop shafts replaced with later ones.

Don’t forget to grease these obvious nipples here. Can’t miss ‘em, 4 on a 90, 8 on a 110.
Click image to enlarge Oh, and for the hubs, surely if you have alloy wheels, ceramic grease might be better than copper slip. Eric You never actually own a Defender. Regarding the prop slider grease nipples mine mine does have them but is a 2007 (57).
2.4 TDCi. So looking at the number of you who said your 2.4 doesn't have them I'd imagine around 2008 - 2010 later type props were used at the factory. I doubt that three or more of you had the props swapped out. There was also the recall regarding missing nipples so there are a few options open, but my guess is at some point LR changed props to greaseable UJ's only and sealed for life slider. Quite interesting. No Guts, No Glory. 🇬🇧🏴🏴🏴🇮🇪🇺🇸⛽️🛢️⚙️🧰💪 |
